Currently there's only one volume setting for the Chromecast. Connecting headphones to the Stadia controller keeps the same audio volume level that the Chromecast was just set to. If you lower the volume and then take the headphones out, the same lower volume is now set on your Chromecast.
I keep my Chromecast at max level and when the headphones are plugged in, I always have to lower it since with normal headphones, max volume is too loud.
It would be very appreciated if somehow the Chromecast could remember different volume settings - with and without headphones connected to the controller.
(I'll also mention that changing Stadia audio volume requires 4-5 clicks just to get to the setting)
@Shen I think that's a great idea! If you haven't already, please be sure to submit it with the in-app Send Feedback option. ![]()
@Shen A great fanboy trick is to sub to YoutubeMusic and get a the promotional Nest Mini for free. Then once you have that puppy you just go like: OK Google set the TV volume to 7/10 .
I am not expecting my post to be marked has the solution here

I use earphones at night to keep the quiet. Talking to the assistant is definitely not the solution... Even at day it's of course a bit cumbersome for volume setting.
@Shen You got me there! Yeah I suppose that does work if you need to be noiseless
