Hello.
I became a stadia owner with the YouTube promotion. I received my unit today, and can not get a game to start. The error I receive is " Error Failed to start the game session " after 30 seconds from choosing a game.
My internet service is through community internet with spectrum. I'm not using the companies router, I'm using my own and using ethernet instead of Wi-Fi connection. My playstation 4 pro, xbox series X and fire cube work fine with the ethernet connection.
I've tried launching games with both a ethernet, and wifi connection, and stadia works on my laptop. Also I can cast the game to the chromecast from my computer, and it works.
Do you have any suggestions for me.
I had the same issue with the chromecast with google tv and I solved buying the ethernet adapter.
Hi, do I understand correctly this is about the problem with gaming in connection with the Chromecast Ultra? If so, did you connect it via LAN for security? Have you gone through these steps before? https://support.google.com/stadia/answer/9595943?hl=en

yes ive tried those steps
I'm still getting the same error message. Staida works on iOS and the web browser. If I cast it from my PC it works. I can't use stadia directly from the Chromecast
I have the same error as this and am also on the wifi provided by Spectrum community in an apartment complex.
I am also facing same issue as I do have community spectrum at my house. Please let me know if any solution for this as I tried all possible solution
I have only been able to access a single game one time on mobile. Now facing the same issue. On spectrum community connection. Have verified with Spectrum that my 5ghz connection is turned on.
Google pixel 2xl, Chromecast Ultra, Stadia Pro controller
Having same issue with a the chromecast on a wired connection.
Stadia is not stable enough to be sold imho
Same issue here. Wired 300Mb connection with Chromecast Ultra, Game loads fine, no lag connection shows Green, but every 5 - 10 min the game will freeze. Then time out and give the "failed to start game session". Re start the game and off we go again. It doesn't seem to matter what time of day and there are not other devices on the network when I'm playing. This issue make it almost unplayable. Hopefully it gets addressed - it's a great concept and visuals are great. Tried all the normal troubleshooting suggestions, but nothing works to prevent the error.
Same here with Spectrum in apartment complex. It worked yesterday, then stopped working, all games couldn't be loaded, controller would get automatically disconnected while loading game, then it says couldn't start session.
Same problem here.
Wired chromecast ultra. 1Gb connection. This only happens with one game. Red Dead 2
Same. Never had this issue before, but now I'm in an spectrum apartment complex. Looks like it's been happening for months, with very direct evidence related to one very specific product (spectrum). Why isn't there anything about solutions or at least a comment from Google about slapping around spectrum. I assume it's related to something another resident did since there was no issues until it just dropped in the middle of a game, no reconnection for any game.
I just had this issue on my Nvidia shield using the new stadia app from playstore. I've been sideloading app for months. I tried to start doom eternal which got the error. On 4th attempt I got in.
so there is no solution for this issue....?
I had the same issue with the chromecast with google tv and I solved buying the ethernet adapter.
Hi everyone,
This is an older post so we're going to go ahead and lock it now. If anyone still needs help after trying the suggestions here, I'd recommend creating a new post so that you can get better visibility in our community.
Thank you,
James
