Hi
I am having an issue with stadia.
I have chromecast and the app on Google TV Which both don't work.
So I turn on either stadia controller I have, pair them with the 4 digit code I see on screen, I get the doub vibration and solid white light to show connection, but the chromecast or Google TV do not recognise the connection so I cannot do anything at all. I repeat this process of off/on code etc and no luck. I factory resetted my controllers, no luck. I don't want to have to always factory reset my dongles, and when I have sometimes it still doesn't work. I am baffled at what to do? Maybe it's something to do with my WiFi? I am only 2 metres away from screen, WiFi hub too.
Any help is much appreciated
Thanks
Hello @Nigel_De_Shlong,
That is going to be kinda hard to do without creating a second WiFi network on your router.
Maybe there is option to force it 2.4GHz but I don't know what kind of router you are using?
Another thing that could be a issues are some security related options within your router which could cause some interference.
@RXShorty I went into my router admin manager and just done a reset on both bands and seems to have worked. I resetted my controller and it connected straight away
thanks for you help!!
Hi @Nigel_De_Shlong,
Could you provider some more information about your home networks?
Which router do you have at home and are you using 2 seperate WiFi SSID's? Meaning do you have 5GHz and 2.4GHz seperate WiFi networks?
The reason I am asking this is because I had some connectivity issues with my Stadia controller. The way I fixed it is using the 5GHz for the Chromecast and 2.4GHz for the Stadia controller. ![]()
Hi @RXShorty
Running just one SSID - I believe it to be 5GHZ although I haven't checked this morning.
Thanks for the help

Hi @Nigel_De_Shlong,
You can try to create 2 WiFi networks to seperate the 2,4GHz and 5GHz.
If you are able could you try this if this helps? Right now your router selects which WiFi your device is going to use.
And as you are close to your router my guess your Stadia controller gets the 5GHz connection.
Hi @RXShorty
Thanks again for helping - so i have a dual band router and the controller and chromecast are on 5ghz
I am unsure how to get the controller to connect to the 2.4ghz connection without creating or changing anything major
Thanks
