Chromecast not playing Stadia

Jump to Best Response

From today - with everything fine yesterday - neither Stadia controller is causing Chromecast to switch to Stadia when I input the Controller code. The Chromecast is firmware: 1.56.264660, so that shouldn't be the problem, and I've just reset each controller (so they are working fine, on the face of it). When I put in the code on the controller the code seems to be accepted, the light settles to white, but there's no gaming! And suggestions, please. I can't find anything online about this issue.

Hello @VastFolly,

From what I understand the Stadia light on your controller turns to white, but on your TV it remains at the homepage. Is that right ?
If so, it's the first time I heard about this incident too.

Are you using Stadia only with your Chromecast ? You tried to reset your controllers. Did you tried with the chromecast too ? see here

Hi. Thank you for the suggestion.

Yes, the white light on the controller appears to show that everything is connected ok.

I've now solved the problem by replacing the Chromecast and resetting the controllers. So maybe it was a faulty Chromecast, or a Google glitch, or one of those weird things that happen.

Thank you,

I reckon this might have been at the time when there was a Google outage, so maybe this was an internal issue with their servers rather than my local setup.
