Cannot uppdate controller as wireless does not work

Hi I've just got Stadia Premiere and hope to play games on my TV. I've managed to play a bit on my computer using USB. I was prompted that my controller needed updating when i did this and to use the mobile app to do this wirelessly. I have tried using the mobile app both with Stadia opened in Chrome on my PC and using with Chromecast Ultra connected to my TV. But its the same every time. i turn on and there is a white light round the Stadia/on and off button for a couple of seconds and then it starts flashing orange on and off. However long it's left it never flashes white or turns white. If I try entering the access code there is no reponse. My smartphone is a Nokia 6.1 so it's not on the appoved list to run Stadia on it's screen but should be able to cope with running the connecting app OK. All it's said is to try again. I've looked in the documentation and it says this means it cannot acess wifi.
How can I update to get wifi if i need wifi to update - is there a workaround here or do I need to sent the Stadia back?

Hi Everyone, Stadia is now up and running on my PC. I did some internet searches and found a complicated suggestion involving 2 phones [use one as a hotspot and another for the commands]. I don't have access to a working smartphone i can use/borrow at the moment so decided to see if I could get anywhere using a tablet instead. I thought i might as well try with the tablet by itself at first and it actually got the stadia to communicate via wireless I connected to the Tv/Chromecast and just got asked to do a few things on my phone -which i did on the phone. The tablet was a Lenovo TB-X704F running Android 7.1.1  and the phone was a Nokia 6.1 running Android 10.

Hello @klutZ

So your controller is now updated by using the Stadia app on your tablet?

You have to open the Stadia app and add controller and let the app search for your controller when it is turned on. :smiling_face_with_smiling_eyes:
