A month ago my Chromecast Ultra started to lose connection while playing for a few minutes.
I checked network connection with the router and all is well (Ethernet connectivity).
It loses connection to the web and is extremely hot to touch!
It is already very hot while just beeing connected to the powersource and TV.
I live in Italy and now temperatures are rising. Summer is here!
I Tried to position a small a fan nearby. When very close it helps a but the situation is not nice.
I will have to suspend Stadia subription as I cannot really play anymore..
Maybe in autum/winter again.
Only workaround seems to be to glue Raspberry Pi heatsinks on the Chromecast.
Front and back!
Best if cutting out a hole in the plastic..
It's just ridiculous!
Please adress this issue Google!!!
Hi @Mr_N0,
I understand your frustations... you should be able to game even in the summer. ![]()
Did you already reached out to Stadia Support chat about your issue? (warranty?)
There is not much we can do here to help you. ![]()
The solution you shared is one of them (add extra cooling) or maybe replace the Chromecast Ultra with a Chromecast Google TV?
