App stadia on LG WebOS is jerky

Jump to Best Response

Hi,

I tested Stadia app on my LG TV (OLED 55CX6 Smart TV), and is jerky with every game, also lowering down resolution to 720p. Playing with my chromecast ultra, instead, is fine (so I imagine it's not a network bandwidth issue).

Any ideas?

Oh, that looks worse than expected. The app on my CX does not show that behaviour.

Have you tried a factory reset on your TV?

Can you check if your TV is connected to 5GHz Wifi? If yes, which channel do you use? I have the same problem on my G1 if my Wifi is set to channel 100 (which has the least interferences in my environment). Problem is gone using channel 36. Its only related to the WebOS Stadia app. Other apps are working fine. The Stadia controller also refuses to connect to channel 100.

Great! Tried to tweak channels on my wifi router, now the problem seems gone! It's a strange behaviour, because stadia run using Chromecast ultra worked also before. And obviously is the same network (and channel).

Anyway now it's working as expected.

Thank you

Hey GiulioCasella,

from my experience, Stadia works on my CCU than on my CX, too. But only marginally, tbh. Still, I prefer the CCU experience.

I would suggest to wait for an app update. I am quite sure that it will improve over time.

Just to go sure that there's no further issue: What do you mean by "jerky"? Maybe we can help out a little bit.

Hi Borussia,

with "jerky" I mean video is good in quality, but is showed in a "hiccup" way (let me explain: half a second video playing, then half a second video stopped, and so on indefinitely). Tonight I'll try to acquire a short clip, and then I'll post here.

Looking forward to that video.

Anyway, I think I know what you mean and personally I prefer the CCU for that reason, too.

Here's the video (just few seconds): https://youtu.be/IrLBwX3lk1A

Every game has the same behaviour

Hey GiulioCasella,

sorry for necromancing this thread but there has been an LG-app-update yesterday.

Could you try if that works for you?

Updated Stadia appa on tv, with no luck. Now I have latest available version of WebOS and Stadia app, but it's still jerky...

I have the same problem the first time I used it. Thanks turned off my tv and my internet, then turned both back on again and it was fine. Now it’s jerky again and I can’t fix it.
