Hello all,
First time poster here as I thought I had something noteworthy to share. My new living room set up is as follows:
5.1 Surround
After adding the soundbar to my living room, I wanted to try out Stadia Pro with 5.1 Surround Sound. I had already done plenty of tests to make sure that my set up was working properly by trying some videos on YouTube that are in 5.1 as well as the Dolby demo videos that can be found on their developer website. I go to fire up Red Ded Redemption 2 and "Unsupported by Device" is what I see! Intrigued, I check the settings for my gear and decide to go in to the Stadia settings and manually force the 5.1 setting from Auto. Low and behold, upon my next launch of RDR2, 5.1... ON!
Not sure if I've stumbled across something novel or other people have this same experience.
HDR
The other item I noticed, which was apparent as soon as I started a game with Stadia Pro, is that with HDR set to ON the colors appear very washed out or muted. This is especially notable in RDR2 and in Madden 22 where one can see that the jerseys and field look way off. Is there some other setting on the TV I should look at? For the Stadia app, I use the Sony's "Game" mode which provides the least amount of input lag. Has anyone else encountered this?
Cheers!
@TheSirHobbes3 when you set up HDR for RDR2, did you do it in game or from the TV? Perhaps you need to calibrate the HDR setting?
I can't help with the audio issue unfortunately since I'm just using a simple computer speaker.
