CCU stuck at Stadia logo/splash screen after selecting account

Jump to solution

Hey there,

In the past 24 hours, I have not been able to login via my CCU to play Stadia. Prior to that, everything has been near perfect. I can load Stadia with my controller and it'll bring up the screen to select my account. I do that and once that is done, the Stadia logo splash screen appears and the cursor spins as if to load my account. I cannot get past this screen. I've tried everything from restarting my fibre ONT to my modem/gateway to my switches. Nothing seems to work. I can cast videos and such to my CCU with no problems, however. I've tried hooking my CCU to ethernet (which it usually is) and WIFI but only Stadia is giving me trouble.

Initially, I thought it was related to my account as I had made an honest mistake that resulted in my Youtube account being disabled. However I can play Stadia via the Chrome browser on my laptop is perfectly fine. It has no issues so I do not think it is account related.

What can or should I do? Could this be related to that `overheating CCU` issue some people had in early stages of Stadia? I have the original founders edition and I will admit, it gets hot to the point my Stadia occasionally displays weird colors. However, unplugging the device and waiting a few minutes will usually fix that.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

If you can cast to the CCU and it otherwise behaves normally I doubt it's a hardware problem.  If you have the ability to check firewall logs at your routing equipment they may give you some clues.  If you can also create a DMZ port and try having your CCU connected to that you could rule out a firewall problem on your end.  At the end of the day, it sound like an account problem though I agree it's weird that you can use it on Chrome OK.  You may need to try to get in touch with Stadia Support directly about this one if you don't have any luck ruling out your internal network equipment blocking the CCU Stadia communications for some reason.

Hi there HeyHeyItsEric! Sorry to hear about the problems you're experiencing.

Have you tried a factory reset on your Chromecast Ultra? If not, try that by following these instructions.

I checked with Stadia support and they said it wasnt an account level issue which makes sense since i can login on the Chrome browser to play.

It's so weird
