Why is it that as soon as my son plays a simple youtube video my game has a massive hissy fit and starts dropping frames and image quality where Pubg starts looking like a bad watercolour and dropping to about 4 fps when using chrome?
Using Stadia while using other streaming services really loads your internet connection.
I had a 70 Mbit internet connection which should be enough for Stadia HD/4K.
This was true until my wife decided to stream some YouTube.
Strangely while streaming Netflix in 4K it wasn't that bad as with YouTube.
Right now I upgraded my internet connection (same router and wifi mesh network) and there are no issues while using Stadia and other streaming services.
I've had to upgrade to 70mbs too and now it's fine. So I wouldn't recommend Stadia on 40mbs unless you live alone. When it works , especially on a CCU it's amazing!
100% your network is poor, sorry, did you test your connection ? https://projectstream.google.com/speedtest
glad to hear you solved it @jerh4wk by upgrading.
Atm I have the same problem with my BF, we have 40mbit on our internet and as soon as one is streaming Twitch, YouTube or whatever, the quality on Stadia is bad. But yeah it's all up to the internet connection in this case, especially if multiple people are using it. I can live with that so it's not too bad (we're not streaming all the time) and normally I am running my games in 4K in amazing quality. ![]()
