I contacted Stadi support but they pushed me off to Ubisoft, so instead of playing that circle.......game, I thought I'd post here.
In a nutshell, inputs from my keyboard and mouse will stop registering in the game at random. So if I'm walking forward, my character might just stop even though I have not released the "W" key. Same for the mouse, I can be aiming or shooting and it will just stop as if I've lifted off the mouse keys. I never had issues until recently, the game has always played flawlessly. The only "change" I've made that happened about the same time was an upgraded 360Hz gaming monitor. I don't see how that changes anything since to the monitor, the FPS from the web browser is still 60Hz. I've opened the OSD menu and watched the FPS counter to see what the monitor is getting.
I'm hardwired on my gaming desktop and other games work just fine. This seems to be an issue with "just" D2. I'll try the Ubisoft Connect UI hack but wanted to post here as well. It's been going on now for about 3 months. I'm always connecting to the Iowa datacenter, and sometimes I can get a better "instance" when I exit the game and re-connect. That's why I think it's a Staida issue rather than an Ubisoft issue.
Any ideas welcome, rather annoying....
I can confirm that mouse polling rates are the cause of the input drops. Now they need to fix that, but it seems Stadia is the minority in the gaming community ![]()
Hello @Specter01101,
There is almost no chance that it's a Stadia issue; I'm playing Division 2, tried today, wasn't able to reproduce your incident. If it was on Stadia side, every player would be impacted aswell as if it came from the game.
There is probably something to deal with mouse polling rate. That's my first theory.
Could you please told us what polling rate you are using ? Also, I don't think so, but do you have any message from Stadia about stability OR focus lost ?
Also consider that any app that use a WinActivate command (such as, for e.g., League of Legend) will make you loose the focus on Stadia. This is also what can cause your incident here. It happened to me and I not always received a message asking me to clic to get back the focus. Search for third-party programs you may have installed since it worked. Same for addons.
Could you also provide more info on your config ? What browser do you use to access Stadia ? Chrome ?
Logitech G502 is polling at 1000s. I receive no messages about stability OR focus lost. Running Chrome on the desktop. I don't think I'm losing focus due to a application, things like mouse movements still registers when continuous input is lost. It happens to the mouse button inputs as well, you can be holding down the left mouse button to fire, and sometimes, at random, the game will stop shooting. The most noticeable is movement, however.
Ok, I understand.
Mouse polling rate is good.
Do you have any antivirus that would block requests ? Kaspersky, for e.g., can cause similar issues.
What about the way you acccess Stadia / your addons ?
I've had ESET AV installed since day one(not the full suite), I've never had issues with it before. Not saying that can't be part of it, but it's never given me issues with anything else. I have 1Password, AdBlock, Grammarly, Honey, Privacy Badger, and Stadia Enhanced added into Chrome. Both AdBlock and Privacy Badger are disabled for the Staida site.
As a test, I turned down my mouse polling rates to 250s and had a great gamming session last night. Not sure if it's the fix yet, will report back, to early to tell. The game still gets laggy after a few hours and loading the stupid Ubisoft Connect UI or closing the game fixes that.
