Stuttering on chromebook

Hi hope someone can help!

Recently started using stadia on my HP chromebook (using chrome browser) and have been experiencing consistent little stutters and framerate drops whilst playing any game. The stadia performance tester says my wifi is good enough however I am using keyboard and mouse which i understand can cause some issues. however it would be good if i could get it running smoothly in the meantime before i get a controller. does anyone know of anything that can help?

Hi @robyn_violet

sorry to hear that.

My questions

  • Did you try it on other devices like a phone or another Chrome browser?
  • Which Chromebook do you use? A more modern one with 3d hardware acceleration?
  • Do you have video, audio or input issues? What I mean is, if the streaming quality is bad?

My ideas

  • If you a Pro member, you could try to reduce the streaming quality to Full HD
  • Check if disabling location service helps

I cross my fingers that we find a way to improve your expierence!

Hi thanks for getting back to me I use an Acer CB431 Chromebook I've had it 2 maybe 3 years now and I have good enough WiFi according to the speed tester. I don't tend to have audio issues it's more stuttering or lag. In games such as doom eternal I've tried just moving without moving the mouse and this seems to reduce the stuttering significantly making me think it is the mouse causing it would I just need to get a controller instead - although it would be nice to be able to use a mouse. Reducing the quality and disabling location services didn't help.
