Stadia wants me to update chrome...

Hi,

I just tried to connect to Stadia on my Chromebox (I admit, it's not the most powerful thing), however, it keeps insisting I need to update Chrome OS. The thing is, according to Chrome I have the latest version. Trust me, I checked. More the once. I even tried the good old "turn it off and back on" trick.

Any ideas of how to fix this?

Hi @Msnadler

can you please tell us which Chrome and / or ChromeOS version do you run?

So...following up.

Apparently, while my little ASUS chromebox is stuck at the version listed above, my Toshiba Chromebook has a newer version of Chrome OS. Is there a way I can make the Asus update itself or do I just have to wait?

Yes, you can force it to check for updates.

Click the system tray on the bottom right.

Enter settings by clicking the gear icon.

Click on "About chrome OS" in the bottom left of the window that opens.

Thanks,

Further research shows my chromebox hit its AUE date in September, so no more updates for it. Guess I won't be playing games on it.
