Stadia on Linux Chrome browser terrible

I can play all games including NBA 2k20 on chrome cast ultra and pixel 4 XL pretty flawlessly. No hesitation, no lag, no interruption.

But as soon as I launch these games on my Linux Ubuntu most up-to-date Chrome browser, they all lag and experience button delay. I have tried turning off all extensions, running in incognito mode and even "installing Stadia" from the chrome options.

Side note: I'm using Google WiFi mesh for all of these devices.

Anyone have a fix for this?

@w1ggspl1tt3r I have read from different Linux source that the browser been a different version was a issue from day one.

I have been on Linux before and for multiples years and Stadia is a perfect fit I hope there a fix for you guys soon.

I collect Kudos for living.

How did you install Chrome on Ubuntu? Did you install it by going to https://www.google.com/chrome/ ?

Previously through terminal and also now through browser.

I think the Ubuntu standard install fetches the Chrome Snap package. You do not want that one.

I'm running Chrome stable installed via website on Linux Mint 19.3, no issues with input lag.

This is what fixed it for me. Installing chromium with vaapi. https://www.linuxuprising.com/2019/01/ubuntu-testing-chromium-snap-with-vaapi.html
