First of all, I'm using Stadia from an unsupported country, Romania, so I don't expect official support.
That being said I played my games (mostly Destiny) for months without any kind of issues, with reasonable latency and without using any VPN.
This morning though when I opened Stadia, the logo showed only briefly and then I was greeted by:
403. That’s an error.
We're sorry, but you do not have access to this page.
I would be curious to know what changed since this morning regarding Romania. I spoke with other fellow compatriots and they seem to be affected too. Can't say if this is an issue for Romania or Eastern-Europe or for all unsupported countries.
It would be also helpful for me if anyone in these unsupported countries could chime in and share their Stadia's current situation.
Hi @Dubigrasu , check again if Stadia is working, some other members has advised that now it is working again.
As an update for all this, just about few hours ago I checked my messages and found an email from Google. They assigned someone to investigate further and gave me a ticket number to keep in contact. I checked also this topic and I can confirm now that the issues was fixed.
After browsing this community forum I can see that the issue was confirmed by at least one other person and Google took steps to remedy it. I'm able to connect directly to the website and play my games as usual.
I guess I'll have to eat my words about Google support stopping at the desk support
So thanks to community for the help, and of course Google support.
Hi @Dubigrasu
Do you have still problems accessing Stadia?
Unfortunately I still can't access it, and I have no idea where to begin to investigate the problem. I mean, an hour before I was playing without problems, I took a pause to eat something and when I tried to reconnect to finish my quests...bang, this happened.
So I contacted Google support and they basically told me that they don't know what the issues might be and to just wait for Stadia to be available in Romania.
It was a helpful guy, but honestly I'm a bit disappointed. It was clear that they don't do anything on purpose to block the access from unsupported countries, but at the same they don't seem to care about that. He told me that there were some changes to website server that could've caused it, but they don't seem preoccupied to remedy that. What I don't like is that supported country or not, they took the money all the same, so basically I'm still a paying customer nevertheless.
From the looks of it, google support stops right there, at that guy at the desk support. If he doesn't know how to help, that's the end of the support.
I wonder if they do the same if you call from a supported country.
I think you just had luck before that you were able to play Stadia when being in an unsupported country, because usually this doesn't/shouldn't work. Did you try as well if it works on mobile phone/tablet, Chrome Browser or TV (Chromecast)? Does it not work with all options?
That Stadia is now unaccessible anymore in your country, therefore doesn't surprise me, because I think Google's intention was that Stadia shouldn't be able to run in an unsupported country (otherwise why don't they make it supported there?).
I do understand also that the Google support is unable to help you in this case, because technically unsupported countries don't have Stadia.
Still hoping the best for you that it will be available soon for you in Romania and that this country will be added to the supported country-list. You mentioned also that you're still a paying customer, so if this is the case, it might also make sense for you to cancel Stadia Pro as you are not able to use it at the moment (you can always renew as soon as it's available in your country).

To answer your question, the Stadia app on the phone seemed to work normally at the time, but no games were able to actually start. They were just hanging at the loading screen.
But as I posted earlier, the issues is now fixed.
