Some Game won't start anymore

Jump to Best Response

Hi,

I share my games with my family. My son played some of my games flawesly on his lenovo ideapad chromebook. But since a few weeks, some of the game library won't start on his chromebook. Like Cyberpunk. The game is visible, when I click on it, The screen "flash" 2 times, but the game didn't start. The Stadia Site is still visible, with all the game showed, but it is frozen. Nothing works from this states. Chrome work, i can refresh it and the site work again.

I try to reboot, reset the Chrome Flags, using a private Chrome, or a guest session without any success. I didn't try to wipe the chromebook. Since it's my son's school computer, I hope to find another solution...

All my game works in my computer and on the chromecast.

Hey @Gregore,

Sorry to hear your son is unable to play some games on his chromebook.

Resetting the chromebook is indeed a very invasive step, so should be last if nothing helps.

In your case I have the following ideas that you could try additionally:

If these steps don't work either, maybe someone here in the community has more ideas or you can also try to check out with the Stadia support in this case if there are any other steps to perform before trying any invasive step like FDR on your chromebook.

Thank you for the reply,

I already check for update on chromeOS and Chrome. Il Will check tonight for the other things you mentionned.

Juste to add more info : some games start normaly on the chromebook. It seams only the biggest ones are affected, Like Cyberpunk. Tonight, I will check for others game's names affected.

I will try to connect with my account on his chromebook too.

Hi @Gregore, thanks for posting about this. I have marked @Chufu's response as a "Best Response" because it provides many helpful troubleshooting steps.

Is your son's Google account perhaps set as a minor? Accounts set up for minors are unable to access Mature-rated games, so this may be the culprit.
