Shield 4K Pro Keyboard and Mouse

Jump to Best Response

Hi all,

I am a keyboard and mouse player for FPS and cannot get used to controllers.

I've tried 3 mini PC's for running Stadia but none can support the 4k 60hz+ that I want and also keep running smooth with Stadia running at 4k. Also my laptop doesn't run VP9 encoding!

Does anyone know for definite that the keyboard and mouse functions correctly for Stadia on Shield 4k?

If not, does anyone recommend any mini PCs that can do what Im looking for without judder and constant drop out/connection issues!

Even been considering the Google TV Chromecast and a USB hub, but again, finding mixed opinion on viability!

Thanks

Steve

Hi @chambesa,

Right now the Stadia app on Android TV does not support keyboard and mouse. Please check THIS support page.

Keyboard and mouse are only supported while playing Stadia in the Chrome browser. And cannot easily advice a mini pc, but please also take a look at a Chromebook.

If there is a Chromebook that can pump out 4k@60hz via HDMi and has VP9 encoding...and doesn't judder when in use...I'm in!! That's all I want. When I play it is usually on Stadia and I have 150mbps internet so right now hardware is my limiting factor. Just don't see the point of chucking silly money at something that a CCU can do beautifully!
