Before I used to save clips and screen shot using the 'Search' and '+' button, normally saves it, but now it suddenly stopped working, I can't save clips anymore..
Can someone tell me what's going on?
@Edalyn On PC I usually just use the Print Screen key, then paste it into Paint, and save it. I was actually not aware of the method that you described above.
Hello everyone,
Just wanted to hop in here to see if I can help at all. I'm so grateful to both @Ivan and @RXShorty for jumping in to try and help with what they could. I totally understand the confusion here @Edalyn and am sorry that the method in which you used to take screenshots no longer works. So in this article, Chromebook keyboard shortcuts, it looks like to take a screenshot you can use this short cut:
Take a screenshot: Press Ctrl + Show Windows
Please let us know if that doesn't work for whatever reason. We can look into additional ways to try and help you resolve this issue.
Best,
James
Hi @Edalyn,
I'm sorry for the late response. It took me a while to figure out, but if you hit "search" + "volume down" buttons together you should be able to use the screen capture feature. Please reach back out if that doesn't work for whatever reason.
Thank you,
James
@Edalyn I can't recall what the 'Search' and '+' button refers to. Can you elaborate on which controller you're using to take screenshot? The only controller I can think of that has '+' button is the Switch Pro Controller...
@Ivan I was referring to Mouse and Keyboard, Obviously-

@Ivan I am on Dell Chromebook (it does not have the F1-F12 buttons), and I need to screen record, it used to be on "Search" with "+" button, but now it's not working-
@RXShorty I am on DELL CHROMEBOOK, w/Mouse- which doesn't have that button nor it's other variations

Okay, that's pretty much what I've been using, but, that's NOT my main issue- my MAIN issue is that I can't SCREEN RECORD GAMEPLAY-- And since this is a Stadia community, there has to be someone with a REASON WHY it no longer works AND if there's a different method that Stadia goes by now-
It was so much easier before--

Late as well but that doesn't matter because it doesn't work, I tried, the previous buttons worked just fine honestly see no reason for them to change it or remove it
Hi @Edalyn,
The change was due to a Chromebook OS update that happened a little while ago, where the ability to use the function keys was changed a bit.
I just tried this a second time. Pressing the "search" (magnifying glass) and the volume down (top row, third button from the right) definitely worked. What happens when you push those keys? Also, do you know which firmware update your Chromebook is on? Let us know when you can.
Thank you,
James
