Not working: Cheking connection

Jump to Best Response

Hi I'm new to stadia.

For every game i tried, I click the play button, and after a while appear a loading hint on lower left:
Checking connection...

After 1 minute appears a pop up telling me to restart the game if I want to play.

But this never works.

I've a powerfull connection, ftth with 900+ Mbps download and 200+ Mbps upload. I already play with WoW, any steam game, origin, etc. and never had a single problem.

Can anyone tell me what should I try? Some specific port to be opened maybe?

As far I tried:

  1. Opening 44700 - 44899 (TCP and UDP)
  2. diabling windows AND router firewall
  3. Put machine in DMZ

Neither of this obviously worked.

Thanks

Riccardo

Hey @Raikoug,

that is good to know and I am also glad to hear you were able to play it with your mobile phone!

But indeed there seems to be a problem then with your Chrome Browser. Maybe some of the basic troubleshooting steps might help you here? I would recommend to try the following:

If this doesn't help, try these Browser TS steps and after each step see if this solved the problem:

  • Check that you have the most recent Chrome version.
  • Disable all extensions in the browser and check if that solves the issue.
  • Delete the cache & cookies of Chrome
  • Check that your Chrome Browser is not blocked by any Malware (check here step 5).
  • Check your PC if there is any Malware/Virus installed that might cause issues in your browser. Try to just run an antivirus-programm to isolate this.
  • Check if you have experimental Features (Chrome flags) activated:
  1. Go to chrome://flags.
  2. Search a specific theme to your problem with the search bar and check if you can disable this feature, e.g. "enables pointer lock options" or "hardware accelerated video decode".
  3. If you can't find those, click on "reset to standard" in the top right corner to enable the standard-settings of the browser.

Hey @Raikoug,

sorry to hear you have issues with the connections or stability of the games.

Just to isolate the issue:

  • Does this only appear when playing with the chrome browser or do you encounter the issue also when playing with a mobile phone (via Stadia App) or on the TV (via Chromecast)?

Hi @Chufu, @@and thanks for your reply

Frankly I didn't know that I could use it with the phone!

I tried and it worked, both via Wi-Fi and 4g LTE. Sadly still it doesn't via Chrome in windows 10.

Thanks
