Mouse lag in macOS Big Sur

Jump to Best Response

Hello,

I'm having problems whenever I use the mouse, which is perfectly working. When this happens, the game becomes very laggy and I can't properly play it.

If i use the controller or the trackpad, even in the same session, it works fine. The problem started when I first updated to Big Sur.

Can someone help me?

I think the VP9 encoding was creating the issue for me. I disabled it in chrome://flags/
The mouse lag within game has gone away for now. I will update my post if things change.
Hope this helps!

I'm having the same issue.

To me it seems like if you move the mouse quickly, it's not able to keep up with the whole movement. It only moves a bit and it's jittery. If you move the mouse slowly, it seems to keep up with the whole movement.

I can see the same behavior testing on Mac. No issue on trackpad.

I had the same issues using my Logitech G305 and I've fixed it by lowering mouse pooling rate to 500 Hz. Now my mouse only stutters while dragging files and folders inside a Finder window, but even that disappears when I lower the pooling rate to 250 Hz. I've sent ticket to Apple about this, but I'm still not sure if it's some issue with Big Sur or is it just Logitech drivers issue. Can anyone test this with the mouse not made by Logitech?

Same issue with a Logitech G502. Only happen on Big Sur, work fine on Catalina!

Same issue here with a Steelseries sensei. Also happens on Luna so definitely a Big Sur thing. Worked fine before and games using controller work fine.

Like @33mawrs said. Try altering the settings for the mouse.
Sounds like there is an OS issue integrating mouse movement in to webbrowser.
Tried another browser?

Tried updating drivers? Downgrading drivers etc?

I switched polling rate from 1000 to 500 on Razer Synapse and it helps :))

Hmmm try reducing your polling rate to 250 if you have a gaming mouse software
