Issue:
First of all I'm on a Chromebook, HP x360. Solid and consistent mbps.
This problem seems to be quite common among chromebook users, and I've yet to find a solution to the problem:
Although games look decent when I'm standing still - that includes cutscenes or when there is a lot of stuff going on on the screen - all games get sluggish and slightly choppy when moving the mouse. Some more demanding games, namely Borderlands 3, Destiny 2 and Doom 3, are also performing worse than I wish - even when I'm not moving the mouse.
Solutions I've tried :
-The standards: Turning off mouse acceleration, reseting Chrome/ flags, making sure hardware acceleration is enabled, balanced quality etc. (The strange thing is that all different resolutions behave exactly the same/ stutter)
-Stadia+ addon: Forcing VP9, H264, different resolutions, with no noticable differences.
-Different tweaks in flags - no results there either.
Solutions that might work:
Since I'm on a Linux, Hardware Protected Video Decode is unavailable - As a last resort I could try to install a patch of Chromium that would allow GPU acceleration.
New mouse/ Try controller in case it is a hardware issue. (However my trackpad replicates the issue - so this is probably not what's going on here)
Get myself an ethernet-cable.
Buy a new machine. (In case the issue is related to my Chromebooks issue decoding complex video - which I doubt)
Other than that I am at a loss. Help appreciated!
I'll also update the thread as I find out about things, considering this is such a common problem for chromebook users.
Here are the things that helped me with my Chromebook woes.
Oh and the most important one!!!
Go into site settings, and make sure you have the Microphone permission BLOCKED for Stadia.
