Hello, I've got issues trying to get games to launch consistently. When I start a game it plays the splash screen then goes full screen for about ten seconds all black and spits me out to stadia/home. I'll close the browser open it again trying to launch the same game then I get a poor connection box asking me to run a speedtest. And yet other instances where I tried multiple times with no avail I'll try launching another game and I'm greeted with a box that tells me opening a new game will close my last gaming session. I have followed multiple troubleshooting instructions from Google and third party sites to try and remedy the situation on my own but with no luck. I have pop-ups enabled, Javascript is on, etc. Currently playing Stadia on my Google Pixelbook Go in chrome which is basically stock (No Extensions). I have a stellar 5g WiFi connection with around 300 Mgbs download and upload. Infact if I run a speedtest from Google for stadia it says I have a GREAT connection. Now when I can get a game to start (after taking it out to dinner and restarting chrome <10 times) it's absolutely glorious! I ran Destiny 2 for a few hours with no stutters or lag spikes with extremely low input lag at 60fps. I'm not even using a stadia controller (im on a Switch Pro Controller) that will shave off even more milliseconds. Ive been playing fighting games competitively for 5 years and I'm a stickler for input lag and the delay is very negligible. I honestly love stadia when it works! However stadia only loves me sometimes and plays hard to get way too much. Does anyone have any relationship advi- I mean tech support to offer?
Hi @Lowtiir,
I see more and more of your behavior here in the community. Maybe this a a temporarily issue with Stadia.
If noone from the community can help you in the upcoming hours, you might want to chat with the Stadia support (https://support.google.com/stadia/contact/stadia_chat) directly.
Nevertheless, I hope we find together a solution that enables you to re-enjoy your Stadia expierence. ![]()
Hi, Thanks for the help. To shed more light on some of those questions:
1. I don't use Stadia on my Android phone. I currently have an LG G8 which isn't supported (yet). however if I can get a gaming session to launch I can play for as long as I want. I played Serious Sam for almost 5 hours straight. Play length is not an issue. just game launching.
2. Yes other data hungry streaming apps work well. I don't stream YouTube in 4k but we have just about every TV and movie streaming service here. They work great no issues.
3. I have only ran Google's speed test and Ookla's. Both with similar results around 400 Mgbs upload and download downstairs in the house and 300 Mgbs upload and download when I'm upstairs.
4. Usually my network isn't put under too much stress when I play stadia. I usually play games when I'm home alone or someone's watching cable TV. the most that has happened while trying Stadia is another family member was on a zoom call and browsing the internet.
ever get a solution on this? getting games to launch on my pixel slate has always seemed to be a little finicky, but lately it's near impossible sometimes.
Playing Stadia on Chrome has always been much more finicky for me as this original post describes. Just last evening, it took Stadia three tries to load my gaming session via Pixelbook. Same network environment as two CCU's that connect much more reliably (even one that is pretty far from the same router I would be connected to with the Pixelbook). I always leave feedback when this happens so hopefully they can continue to improve the experience on Chrome.
