Don't enable Chrome Stadia extensions - might cause performance issues. Aren't needed. Just an FYI.

I had downloaded and added three Google Chrome extensions for Stsdia, but they caused performance issues.

Since disabling them, my gaming experience  is back to excellent every time.

One day I was browsing the Internet and came across extensions for Chrome / Stadia.

I installed and enabled the Stadia + Extension,, Stadia Enhanced, and Stada Source companion app extension into Google Chrome.

I didn't seem to experience any issues. But when playing Grid and Dirt 5, at times the steering would go out, and freequently during game play, the gas would shop working and I would have to release the 'gas pedal' (R2 button) and reapply the repress the R2 button for during most every race.

Plus, I would experience lots of glitch game play at time during other games, sometimes to where they were completely playable at time and other times less problematic.  I kept asking my self if it's the game or is it because of the streaming or because I'm on WiFi instead of Ethernet, etc.

I had a 200+ download speed normally and usually play on my new 2021 Chromebook most of the time using the Stadia app and sometimes on my 2020 Mac Book Air using the Chrome browser.

Those Google Chrome extensions for Stadia aren't needed.  Maybe it was just one extension or a combo of the extensions all enabled at the same time, or whatever, but they aren't needed.

After disabling all the extensions, my game play is back to normal(100% TOTALLY AWESOME) and I'm having great fun.

I had my game progress completely haulted during Mafia 2 where the next mission disappeared to progress and I couldn't advance, even when reverting to the previous checkpoint and other troubleshooting (could this be because of those extensions or just a bad glitch otherwise? who knows).

Definitely a good advice @TigerCat716 . In general disabling Stadia extension will be the first step to troubleshoot Stadia performance, since the extension is not an official app.

Stadia Guides are not employed by Google. Opinions are my own.

Good to know, @TigerCat716 !

I personally use Stadia Enhanced (I used it to check performances but now that Stadia does show perfs natively, I should probably disable it now) and I don't have any issue but both you and @Ivan are right !

Never guessed this could impact Stadia perfs but now it seems logic.

Hi @TigerCat716,

The mafia 3 issue would of been a glitch as the stadia extensions are only client side on your browser. The game is ran on a remote server for you and the video is streamed to you
