Hello community,
I have a problem for which I don't know the solution to. Maybe you can help me?
Cyberpunk has blurry graphics on my Laptop (tried it on several PCs with different networks) no matter which browser I use. The image looks "filthy" and it simply isn't nice to look at.
On my Chromecast Ultra I don't have this issue. There, everything looks fine and crispy.
Here are some extra informations: 100 mbit/s connection, LAN, using Stadia Controller, mainly using Edge browser but also tried it with Chrome, no Edge add-ons, I am using Stadia as dedicated app on Windows 10, no issues with other games I am playing, besides the blurry details the game has no other problems (except for the usual Cyperpunk bugs), no pro subscription (don't need 4k), tried it on 1080p laptopscreen and on 1440p screen, no extra monitor
I am hoping for a solution so I can enjoy Cyberpunk 2077 on my PC just as much as I can on my TV. ![]()
PS: If you have the same issue don't forget to give this post a thumb up so hopefully more people see it.
Thank you for reading,
kind regards.
Edit:
Before, I talked about another problem. I changed the subject from this post from "Generally blurry games" to "Only Cyberpunk is affected".
Hey @ARey,
I noticed you're playing with the Edge browser. Stadia works best on Chrome Browser. Can you therefore install the Chrome browser (mentioned here in the requirements) and check then on stadia.google.com if the game runs better there?
Also check how your internet connection is on the PC, you need a minimum of 10 Mbit, more if you have set a higher quality in your Stadia settings.
If that doesn't help, you can also try these steps to try to troubleshoot your experience on Stadia.
If that is also unsuccessful, I recommend to contact the Stadia support to figure out if this might be an issue that is needed to be investigated further.
Hope this helps!
Thank you for your fast answer. Unfortunately, it didn't help.
It's not just blur the reflection is also terrible feels like buggy. Please take a look at the screenshots I took.
Also the problem get better once I switch to Edge browser.
I don't see anything wrong with those screenshots?
Your weapon hand is crisp and clear, and the background is misty, but seems intentional?
The naked woman in the background is a computer projection in-game, that is intentionally blocky.
Not sure what you are showing as bad...
Others have mentioned to disable VSync in the NVidia applications settings among other settings.
Didnt work at first because of badly installed drivers so i remove all NVIDA drivers, rebooted and made a clean driver
installation. After rebooting and setting it to 4K i now have greatly improved graphics.
Or at least the blurryness is gone, especially in the menues its not crystal clear.
Note, it does seem to change the stream because it feels a bit more laggy now.
I tried to reinstall the drivers and it didn't solve the problem. That's really a shame.
The original post was a about changing vsync and some other properties .
What I did after I could was disabled vsync for Chrome and then it got better.
Issue is probably forced graphical settings.. TAA or what ever it's called.. It's the devs fault...
But yes. all in all, Cyberpunk on Stadia on PC is THE worst experience I have ever had...
Unplayable..,I can't see because of the blur. Really year 2000 graphics feel.. And the game runs like a brick.
I do not recommend buying it on Stadia.. Waiting for the CCU. I hope it will be better..
Same here not playable yo blurry bad pixels realy bad.
I wouldn't necessarily say that it "runs like a brick" but it definitely looks awful. I hope the devs improve that. As long as the blurry graphics on PC remain I really can't enjoy it.
Ok @ARey , maybe not like a brick. A brick still looks sharp. ![]()
It's not playable for me, too blurry and I have consistently 50 Mbps or more (excellent connection for stadia app)
Same here. Having 1000MBit down and 50MBit up still results in having blurry graphics on Chrome which makes the game almost unplayable for me.
Any way to fix this? Already upgraded to the latest Nvidia drivers (although this might not be neccessary with a game streaming service, but anyways..).
Also tried the new Chromium Edge browser but still blurry af.
I have the exact same issue. ive tried everything suggested, including Port forwarding.. Unsure what to do! Feeling to ask for a refund at the moment, as it feels like 480p Graphics!
Definitely related to browser: when on Chrome, it feels like 480p, then I switch to Edge and it's up to 720p but still way less than 1080p. I am using windows 10 + nvidia 1080. Not sure what went wrong.

Update on 2020-12-18
Here is how I manage to make it crispy most of the time, every bit helps
* enable Chrome's hardware acceleration, then in Chrome://flags, set “use ANGEL graphics” to “D3D11on12”, then in "nvidia control panel - 3d settings - manage 3d settings - program settings - Google Chrome (chrome.exe)", enable "CUDA-GPUS" and "Vertical sync". Those settings together force Chrome to decode Stadia video stream using nv graphic card with DirectX12 API.
* select prefer connectivity mode (not sure the name is right, I play in Chinese)
* unselect all additional graphic features because even with hardware acceleration, it's still a mess for me when there are lots lights and reflection in the scene. Disable those improves light rendering
* change wifi router. Previous I use Google Wifi, it has a fancy shape but doesn't have exterior antenna. Even though Stadia speedtest shows my connection is always 50M+, actual gaming is glitchy, especially when my roommate open his door there is a couple seconds glitch or significant low-resolution...wtf? Maybe because I live on 2nd floor and Google Wifi is on 1st and it tries too hard to optimize signal. Then I switch to an Asus one with 4 antenna, same Comcast cable and same speedtest result but much less glitches and gaming not interrupted by roommate's door ![]()
Make sure to force 4k resolution (Stadia+), use standalone stadia app (install it from chrome - click on a button on the right side of the url input) and use quality mode in the game.
Theses steps finally allowed me to get crispy image (though in performance mode it's still very blurry).
Verify that 4k is active in connection status..if not, you'll probably get blurry image even in quality mode.
same problems here. i tried all solutions founded online but not changed. i ve a msi gaming laptop with 200mb connection.
on tablet the game is perfect.
Are you sure that 4k is active during gameplay (in connection info)?
Just to share things that I tried, all are under highest graphics setting and in 1080p (not a pro subscriber)
Baseline (default Chrome setting, windows 10 + nvidia gf1080)
Call it Cyberpunk 1997: everything is large color blocks glued into shape and light effects feel like physically half-transient curtains cover on objects.
Somewhat works (feels like 480p - 720p but not 1080p crispy):
* run game in Chrome incognito
* disable Chrome hardware acceleration in its settings
* (hardware acceleration enabled) install latest nvidia driver and set D3D11 video decode to OpenGL in Chrome://flags setting
* (hardware acceleration enabled) install latest nvidia driver and force Chrome to use GPU by following this link
Doesn't work:
* Use Stadia+ extension to force Stadia stream in h264 format, however, monitor dashboard says it's still in VP9
* Stadia enhance extension: the said drop list that should allow me to switch format to h264 doesn't appear
I dont think any settings are going to fix the blurry game play, i think its due to the hardware Stadia are using, i refunded my game within 20 mins of playing due to how bad it was.
I really hope Stadia recognises this problem and solves it. Right now it seems like many people have this issue but the Stadia team doesn't mention it anywhere...
I hope it, but the blurriness on browser is problem common with other stadia games and so far they did nothing. I would not be so hopeful...
Rageboy
I get a much clearer picture running on chrome OS. Here is a nice guide to install a dual boot setup: https://beebom.com/dual-boot-chrome-os-windows-10/
My only issue now is that Stadia doesn't output 5.1 sound through my usb soundcard (and yes I'm a pro member)
Same issue, on the TV looks great, in my PC it looks horrible.
I'd like to play in the PC since the input is better IMO.
I really can't understand why the expecience is so different from one device to the other
It's blurry for me on Chrome but sharp in the incognito mode and on Chromium. Google support suggests it's due to some Chrome extensions but switching them all off did not help. Resetting Chrome settings to default helped. It also switched off all extensions.
Perfect, thanks! It looks way better in incognito mode.
Tried incognito, a little bit better but still way less than 1080p
