Connection Issue with 200mb/s Speedtest

Jump to Best Response

Hey Guys,

I am testing Stadia right now on my Ipad Pro 2020 on Chrome but there is also the Connection error and that the game might crash. I am having 350 mb/s in a normal Speedtest and in the Stadia 200 mb/s but why does always crash my game?!?!

From chatting with some other Guides, it really sounds like the issue has to be either with your local network or with your internet connection.

I know it feels like I'm asking a lot of questions and we're not really getting anywhere. It's unfortunately quite challenging to remotely diagnose a network issue without access to that network. I have to rely solely upon you to provide accurate details about your setup and symptoms so that we can methodically work through eliminating variables and eventually arrive at a solution. Please work with me on this. I'm genuinely trying to help you here, but I need your help to be able to do that.

The more details you can provide, the better.

What steps did you take to rule out the router as a potential problem? Did you try powering down the router for 30 seconds and then powering it back on? It may seem silly and pointless, but trust me, that can often help to correct all sorts of issues. Even if the problem comes back after a little while, it's an important step that can help to narrow the scope of the investigation.

And it would be quite helpful if you could tell us the manufacturer and model of the router, type of internet connection (cable, fiber, etc), and the name of your ISP. We Guides have spent a lot of time helping thousands of Stadia users troubleshoot their home networks, and we've seen some combinations of devices and providers that just don't work well for various reasons. I'd love to be able to rule out your router and service provider so we can focus our efforts elsewhere.

Thanks for hanging in there!

Hi @SniperCrewz,

Do you run into any issues with Stadia using a different device on the same network?

Does this happen with all games or with one in particular?

Can you move closer to the WiFi access point to see if that helps at all?

How about also running a test at https://packetlosstest.com/ ? A fast download speed is great, but you also need a connection with very low packet loss, jitter, and latency, and those things may not be reported by standard speed tests.

What can you tell us about your network setup? What network equipment do you have, how is it connected together, and approximately how many devices are on the network?

Many devices, but Lan is directly in der Router

So the router is directly connected to your internet uplink, and everything else is directly connected to the router?

Have you tried power-cycling the router?

Its not about the router…

I'm not sure what other component might cause you to experience the same problem on multiple devices (running multiple OSes), but I'm going to reach out to some other folks to see if they can think of anything I might have missed.
