Can I still record gameplay with F12 on the keyboard while using a PS4 controller?

I want to buy a PS4 controller to play on Stadia since I am originally a Playstation gamer. Unlike with the Stadia controller, there won't be a button to start recording gameplay, but will the keyboard F12 shortcut work fine while Stadia is paired up with the Playstation controller?

I have not tried it with a PS4 controller but with the Stadia controller and a 8bitdo and yes both times it worked.
Just like the Shift+Tab overlay always works with the keyboard.

So I think you are just fine when trying to save clips with hitting the F12 button.
