I love me some Destiny and decided to try out Destiny on stadia. I love tech and something about stadia has always made me want to like it, I think it’s really cool tech but when I have a really nice gaming PC it makes it hard to find a use for it.
I started playing destiny on Stadia when cross play dropped because I wanted to talk to my old PlayStation and Xbox friends but game chat was not enabled on PC yet.
The visual Clarity was horrible on browser, so I looked up all the tricks and use Stadia enhanced to hopefully help with the experience, and in some ways it helped but I just learned to deal with the quirks of the platform and just enjoy shredding kids in pvp or going on raids with boys like old times.
I am a founder but don’t use controller because m&k is my go to so I never really tried Stadia with a CCU on my TV. Got bored and last night hopped onto Stadia with the controller and Destiny looked…amazing. The fov was still smaller then what I like on pc but it looked just as good as it did on my old Xbox one. No pixel looking textures and horrible fidelity. Great visual clarity. I thought to myself it had to be the fact it’s a tv screen vs my monitor right?
I did some testing. Grabbed my beastly Pc and plugged it into my TV, launched Stadia on both edge and chrome at different times and the clarity still sucked. Side by side the CCU version clearly was superior.
Does anyone know a way to get browser stadia to look like CCU Stadia?
I have tried all the trick but it just continues to look horrible. I want that good experience I know I am missing out on but I also do not want to deal with controllers.
Any ideas boys? I will add photos tonight after work to show what I mean if needed with an imgur link.
GPU: 5700xt
Tv: 40" 1080p
Browser I tested 1080p, 1440p and 4k and got no great change.
My monitor is a 24" 1080p and it looks similar to the tv when it comes to the clarity.
Hey there, @MastaE,
Thank you so much for the post. I'm sorry you are having this visual discrepancy between your CCU and your Chrome browser. I myself am a controller gamer, so when I switch to Keyboard and mouse, I'm pretty sure I play worse than my 4 year old does when she games
. Needless to say, muscle memory and comfort are both so important when gaming. Let's see what we can do to get you some better visual quality when you play Stadia on your Chrome browser.
Now, I apologize if these suggestions/questions come as redundant, but I wasn't sure exactly which "tricks" you had previously tried.
Let us know how these go. Hopefully, if you haven't tried them yet, they can offer some improved visual quality.
Thank you,
James
