Hi all,
Having some issues with my setup. Currently using a Asus Chromebox 3 connected through ethernet. I started Stadia and wanted to play with my controller which is connected to wifi, but my system doesn't connect to my controller. Only when I turn off ethernet and connect only to wifi it will work.
Any idea if I can leave my chromebox plugged in to ethernet in order for me to play Stadia?
Thanks!
Hi @Borssie
please check your router settings that it allows a connection between wired and wireless devices. I had to enable this feature in my router, too.
Otherwise you can link both using the USB-C cable. But I think without being on the same network, you were not able to play with a wireless controller

Thanks Tobonaut,
As far as I know my ISP router doesn't provide that function. Wireless I'm using the Google WiFi (1st Gen) so maybe I can tweak somewhat.
Would be nice if Google supported both wired and wireless at the same time, but I'm not sure if that is technically possible anyways.
Thanks for your reply!
Hi,
I found something interesting with my google wifi (1st Gen). To link the wifi controller to my laptop/chromebook when they are on ethernet, I needed that ethernet connection to go through the wifi point I was connecting to.
So, this DIDN'T work:
modem -- Google wifi (master) -- switch -- google wifi (mesh) -- controller
-- Laptop
But this DID work:
modem -- Google wifi (master) -- switch -- google wifi (mesh) -- controller
-- Laptop
As an aside, what aus chromebox 3 model do you have, and how well does it run stadia? I am thinking of getting the i5 model to run stadia in 4k, but would like some confidence it will work well first..
Hi!
Just saw your post haha
Everything is working great now, and my Chromebox 3 is working like a dream, excellent choice for using Stadia! Did you purchased it?
