I'm a bit disappointed.
Just a few weeks ago, they launched the 1440p/wqhd support and i was really happy about it.
But now with the last Update, back to the stone age.
We can only choose between 720p, 1080p or up to 4K. And 1080p on a 1440p screen
doesn't look really good.
Even i use AMD Virtual Super Resolution to push my Desktop resolution to 4k, i can't use it on Stadia in Chrome, Canary or Edge
Maybe the VP9 Hardware decoding is the cause i can't check the 4k resolution.
Perhaps there is an issue with AMD/Chrome, because with chrome://gpu they wont show up anything about Decode vp9
in my case i use a Ryzen 5 3600 + AMD Vega 64
hopefully stadia+ will work again soon
or please Fix this issue
ive the same issue here.
only 1080p instead 4k
Same here ![]()
Same. Any news on this? I'd like to force 4K. 1080p Gameplay shows VP9, chrome://gpu shows only H264, but Vega can at least do H265. Can 4K be forced? I think also without hardware acceleration my CPU can handle that.
the issue is chrome or anything not the chromecast ultra now be a good little sheep and go buy one so stadia is usable pathetic since all u need is a browser and good internet marketing ploys at its finest
Right with you. This is the 2nd chance I have given stadia as a gamer, looking for a more casual expirence.
I was a pre-order backer. and ended up returning my controller and canceling it once I found out the Controller ONLY works with Chromecast.
And this time thier holiday sale got me... I bought a game and I cant even play it in 1440p because of this AMD and VP9 encoding thing......
Such a rip off.
doesnt the stadia pluse chrome extension force 4k anyways? so if its streaming at 4k it will automatically do what virtual resolution does. thats how streaming techonology works. from youtube to netflix to stadia. you all sound ignorate to me and i cant even spell
