Hello,
I find it very unfortunate that stadia is dependent on a wifi network point.
Today, we use more, 5G and 4G, and we have more data than before, (I personally have 300GB per month), and I do not have an internet box, and I do not count subscribe one day to internet boxing, so it would be more reasonable for stadia to allow us to connect our controller independent of an access point (by bluetooth, or direct wifi for example…).
In the near future, does Google plan to make stadia more flexible, that is, to function without the need for a wifi network point?
Hi @cheatah3344 - Google hasn't officially announced anything in regards to making the controller work outside wifi. You can always let the development team know by opening Stadia, clicking on your avatar and pasting your suggestion in the feedback area.
Fingers crossed it will get updated one day!
Hello @cheatah3344
Google doesn't typically announce their plans for new features like this, so it's hard to know whether this is something they already have in the works or not. Personally, I think the strongest use-case for enabling Bluetooth in the controller would be to connect it to a phone instead of using a USB cable when that phone isn't on WiFi, which sounds like what you'd like to see as well. The best advice I can provide is to use the "Feedback" feature in the Stadia app to let Google know this is something you'd like to see.
Hey @cheatah3344 ,
I guess you can buy a 4G/5G modem such as this one. You just need to order another physical SIM card as part of your subscription as mobile networks require SIM cards to login to the network when Wi-Fi don't.
Best!
