With the lack of features at launch should you not give your founders something back for backing google stadia like a lot more free games ?
Agree, for this beta test this would be great! ![]()
Google did give members another free game - Samurai Shodown. It might not be what most users would have wanted but it is another free game.
They cannot give more than that, because of cost. Stadia might carry the Google brand, but as an internal business unit, it does have budget constraints within which operations must stay.
On Xbox, Samurai Shodown sells for $60, we will assume that's how much it would sell for on Stadia. Let say there were 20,000 Stadia Founders Edition units sold worldwide. Lastly, we will assume that Google's take for the Stadia game store is 20% per unit sold.
Google not only lost $240,000 ((20000*60)*0.20) in revenue, but it had to also pay another $960,000 ((60 - (60*0.20))*20000) to the Samurai Shodown plublisher.
The numbers for Destiny 2 are either the same or higher, because of the DLCs.
In addition, Stadia the platform (service), is not getting a whole lot as a cut from the sales of the Stadia the hardware.
These costs are going to add up fast if they keep giving free games away. And when the business unit's budget is spent because of this type of cost, then Stadia will fail. There will be posts about users asking for their money back not for free games.
your right they gave us Samurai Shodown i think it's a terrible game you can pick this game up for prices ranging from £24.95 to £36.28 online this is for xbox and ps4 and the price will drop more i bet.
They should have given us option to pick a title we like from the store. I strongly feel they not losing money the games are over priced for older titles and destiny 2 is free 2 play and they just given us the dlc its nothing amazing.
I have a lot of subscription services like EA access, xbox pass, even the uplay and i feel i get my monies worth with the number of titles i guess uplay integration is coming but next year most likely
Now i was excited for cloud gaming and all the features promised even with the lack of titles at launch but they should of said your paying for a beta and the features will be added not oh by the way we don't have any of the feature working yet just before launch.
We are the epitome of beta testers or what steam would call EARLY ACCESS testers
we're going to get a whole slew of issues and the slow feature walk
