any chance we could get some f2p games on stadia? they would be free in the base version coming later and if you have stadia pro you get in game loot or smth
I think that's a little bit hard to finance. Due to the fact that they run on Google's servers which costs some money, how could f2p games could be affordable for Google to offer? ![]()
Well they could offer F2P games with Stadia Pro.
If Stadia would have games like Apex Legends, Fortnite, CoD: Warzone that would seriously attract some people.
Revenue could be shared among the creators, publishers, and google.
Free to Play on console and PC if you rack up at least $1000 to get the PC or for console you need to buy the console then pay subscription to play online...
So free to Play are not actually free...
For stadia it will be hard, how would Google finance the servers...? Unless they run many ads but that would room the experience
And we already have free to Play games... They are pro games.
Try to play destiny 2 in Xbox one without paying a dime and tell us how that went...
People trash stadia but to play any multiplayer games on console you have to pay a subscription in to of buying the game and console...
Well, Alphabet needs to finance the data center and if people just play without any monetary compensation, servers will overload and won't be able to be maintained, the only way this will be doable is if they start running lot of ads and that will degrade the exoerience...
And free games are not free in reality...
On PC you have to buy at least a $1000 gaming pc which you will have to upgrade some parts every year and for consoles... Well, you have to first buy the console then on top of that pay a subscription to play the free to play game (gamepass and PS+) so free to play games are not free
The only real way for f2p games to be on stadia would be to launch them with a price tag and throw in stuff for people. After that they could work a ad engine in and use that.
Ftp would be an interesting concept of they decided to have Ftp without a pro subscription. As of right now we haven't seen anything like that.
I'm sure it will happen eventually especially since they are bringing on MMO B2P titles. They could sell packs, coins, expansions for the F2P games to get some profit.
I really hope free to play games will be part of the catalog.
This is certainly a huge investment (in terms of infrastructure / money) but I think that many people still need to be convinced by the playability of Stadia. Many friends of mine balance the pros and cons without being able to test by themself at zero cost.
I think the newly released Crayta game (or similar concept) would be a great candidate as a free to play game: several rooms, possibility to join with friends and quick sessions.
If you convince a few from millions: this will still be profitable ![]()
Of course they cant give free games cuz they want to have trillion dollars. They just want money first we pay for the console then we have to pay for the games totally makes sense. Plus in the future people have to have at least a billion dollars or they are poor thats why google is racking up some money.
free to play is only possible if you have advertising and microtransactions
but it would be nice for Stadia to have between 1 and 2 games free to play
the game could run at less resolution and be greatly optimized using optimization technologies like DLSS (a version of the same technology that works on Stadia hardware), Image Sharpening, Google Seurat, VRS (Variable Rate Shading), among other optimization technologies,
with all these technologies, a single server can run up to dozens of instances of the same game!
