Just curious what everyone’s thoughts on the current platform for the actually Forums are. Not bashing this one by any means, but with so many options out there there are some good alternatives. I know that XenForo is an amazing forum software, with tons of add ons. Also I know A LOT of people have been using DIscourse as of late, and it’s pretty legit from what I have seen. There is also IP Boards as well. Would you like to see something else implemented?
Knowing how much work Grace & Chris have put into setting up, customizing and fine tuning Khoros there is probably about a 0% chance that the community forum platform is going to change any time in the foreseeable future.
Is there something specific you'd like to see being done differently with the existing platform?
Oh no I'm not bashing Khoros by any means. This is honestly my first encounter with the platform. I have just ran multiple communities in the past using different platforms. I probably should've clarified that. I was mainly just trying to have a tech discussion.
Honestly the only thing that I would like is a dark theme, unless I'm missing that somewhere? Maybe add the ability to add our owned games to our profiles? Other than that, the changes that have been made since launch have been awesome.
definitely needs a dark theme.
and as far as adding games to profiles, honestly I think the overall stadia team could have approached this a bit differently. They could have added a chat/messaging/forum baked into stadia itself instead of a completely separate application. then gamers would be able to message and we'd have more integration with our stadia profiles and this forum profile (because they would be the same thing). but it's probably a bit too late to do that (or maybe they have something better planned - i dunno)
They could just improve on the current one. I personally would prefer a more compact look. I don't need a gigantic button on each message and turning ON the printer friendly page is not appealing or compact enough for mobile screen
