Why is there such a lack of communication from official Stadia channels?

Let's preface by saying I'm really hyped for Stadia, and looking forward to playing it. But the way this was handled is really concerning and really doesn't help in dealing with critics.

So my issues all come down to communication, but they generally come down to:

  1. First come, first serve was in no way honored
  2. No information was given, except if explicitly asked

 

Now, to undermine my own order, I'm going to start with point 2. Information was really only given to those who asked.

There have been 0 official Stadia statements made through mail or on the social media channels. Sometimes the Stadia account would respond to questions, but that hardly counts as a statement as not everyone sees it. Also a lot of information was shared on Reddit, but that shouldn't be your official point of contact.
So general question here: Why is there such a lack of any communication?

I have read a lot on Reddit, so I'm a bit up to speed, but let's pretend I didn't.

The only news I would have is Stadia launching today, but my order isn't shipping yet. So I contacted support for that about 3 weeks ago, they said it would ship on 7 november. That was just a lie, how is your support staff this uninformed?

Well okay, I don't have my controller yet but I will certainly be able to set up my account right? Oh no I can't, which is never communicated to me and I wouldn't have known if it wasn't for Reddit.

In general, everyone here payed 130 euro's at the lowest to be involved in Stadia, but then just got completely ignored and no information was given (or false information was given by support).

 

Then my first point, the first come first serve lie. Why was it stated the orders would be sent out first come, first serve. When it is clearly proven this is not the case. Now it's not even that big of a deal it's not first come, first serve, but why did you lie about it?

 

In short: I hope Google/Stadia can just respond as to why there is such a lack of communication towards their customers, and why the Store support staff is so badly informed. Please just send everyone an email about when their order and their codes are being delivered. Communicatie with us, let us know anything.

Dude, it's because this launch was botched so badly they are all afraid to take responsibility and look bad. Founders were promised access at launch, which turned to soon after launch in first come first served, which turned into soon after your order ships in no specific or logical order, to this giant debacle we are seeing now. What should have happened was that the founders editions were sent out well in advance, you can't use it anyway without the code, even people now have some midnight blue paper weights because they have received the hardware with no code to activate it.. Founders should have been sent emails with codes as far back as last week, in waves, determined by when you ordered. They didn't need access to play, just access to choose a user name and complete a profile. If they really needed to stagger access to the service (which is what it seems all these made up stories lately about codes and shipping are really hiding), they could have given early access (Pre Nov 19) in waves as well. Google made the biggest mistake of all, they over promised and wayyyy under delivered. They should have taken the route I outlined above which would have under promised and over delivered. The fact that Google was unable to do any of this, and is now saying it's a problem with the codes while no one takes any responsibility for this absolute disaster of a launch day really gives me pause as to if Stadia will ever be what was promised to us.

Definitely agree here. I was thinking the same with the codes and shipping times. It's really like a bunch of 12-year-olds are running this launch.

They have communicated, they said "we know it's broke, suck it up while we figure out what's going on." Everything else is hearsay; and also completely unacceptable as an answer.
