I am a founder and I love the platform, but even so, my friends prefer to play on PC, Play Station and Xbox, why? everyone's response is the same, THERE ARE NO TOP GAMES! There are good games, Jedi Fallen Order, cities skylines , cyberpunk, Doom, Destiny... I would love for street fighter 6, the calisto protocol, modern warfare 2, no man's sky, fortnite, elden ring, gotham knights, the games that are coming ARE NOT NEW GAMES and above They are not announced in time... if nothing is done, people stop playing. I got a friend on the platform and it lasted two months... PLEASE DO SOMETHING?
I keep asking but you’ll never get a reply, the Stadia Team ghost customers and the only thing they seem to do now is post interviews with Reddit mods. They don’t mention anything to do with the actual platform. 30 games in 7 months and no AAA titles. They promised 100 and now won’t confirm that. Silence is the worst form of contempt.
Well, regretting it a lot, I'll go to xbox... I'll wait a bit for them to get their batteries back and play a couple of games that I have halfway through, but if none that I really like come in, goodbye forever![]()
Hi @Xincop
I know there are some games missing indeed. Let's hope the new porting tools are going to help with getting games to Stadia.
The tech is still the best so I am sticking around to see if the porting tools are helping. Then again from the list you noticed I only want Street Fighter 6.
☺️
Thanks for answering and giving your opinion, one question, if street fighter 6 for stadia pc, xbox and play station, what platform would you choose?
Hi @Xincop
That would be Stadia. I don't have any new console anymore. Just Stadia and a GeforceNow account.
It's brutally hard to break into the video game space. You have the chicken-and-egg problem. Can't lure developers and titles without gamers, can't lure gamers without titles. Google tried to solve the problem the first way: spent eye popping amounts of money, tens of millions per game, to get individual titles over to Stadia. But clearly (given that Google won't disclose the info) the total number of Stadia users was still so low regardless of that that Google has given up on that approach, as demoralizing as that is for us.
I do have a hard time understanding why long existing titles like Minecraft, Fortnite, Team Fortress 2, etc aren't ported. I've heard Stadia being Linux based being blamed, but those titles already exist on Linux, so whatever porting if any should be trivial. Not like porting Madden NFL or the like. So I really wish they would close those loops, but maybe I'm wrong in thinking these are low-hanging fruit and easy accomplishments that Google is neglecting; maybe Google has tried but can't get the studios to agree.
I think arguably they shouldn't have launched with such a splash, setting expectations so high. Instead should have started off marketing Stadia as cheap, convenient, low-risk investment, especially suitable for casual gamers and kids. So then any big title coming in would be good news exceeding expectations, rather than merely causing endless complaints about OTHER titles that had not yet come over.
Single biggest mistake imo was closing stadia games studio. Much the same way people own Nintendo because of originality. Stadia games could have launched games/MMOS that were specific to stadia. I'm talking AAA.
Paired with a developer like Ubisoft. It could have been a hit.
The YouTube integration where a person can just click and game loads should be pushed more.
Its almost like... They are selling off tech instead of culturing it in a booming way.
Its like watching a guy who rented out a 40,000 square foot warehouse open up a popcorn stand. So much room to do more. But he loves his popcorn!
