Google has such a massive foothold with their Google Play Store games it got me thinking:
Why cant they seize their position and bring many of these games to Stadia?!
A lot of these games are great multiplayer/party games and would really help to compete with Nintendo Switch especially!
Not to mention the number of retro games etc in the Google Play library!
And before anyone says about them being designed for Android, they could 100% be optimised for cloud gaming. A lot of these games are small files and even a simple emulator could prime them for playing across platforms!
The developers would likely need to rewrite the games, for a start. No touchscreen support, creating controller & KBM input methods, etc.
From an optics point of view, using a streaming service to play mobile games on your mobile isn't great either.
I don't think any of this would be true. Many android games already work with bluetooth/cabled controllers... So they already have the ability to be played without touchscreen.... Especially the case for old games refitted for Android.
Hi @tjbadger92
these are a totally other kind of "developer" and "publisher". I know that's a little bit weird but Stadia seems to be not have any boundaries to Android.
Stadia games are developed for Linux and the Vulkan graphics API. Android does have support for accessing similar APIs via the NDK, but Vulkan is only supported from API level 24 and newer. So, some Android games may have been developed using OpenGL ES in order to continue working on older devices (to be fair, API level 24 is fairly old, but in the Android world, a lot of devices don't seem to get updated, so there are plenty of devices still running older releases). Point being, while there may be some Android games that could be ported to Stadia, there are plenty that would require a lot more work. Personally, I'd rather see developers focus on creating high quality Stadia-specific games rather than "shovel" an existing library into the platform.
Hi! I beleive I have a solution to situations as such if ENTITY is open O agrees with ToS
