I dont understand why you would buy a game in stadia if you intend to stay pro, so someone tell me why I should buy anything.
1. If a game you bought is offered for pro then you are just out of luck and dont get a free game that month if I am understanding correctly.
2. The games are pretty much full price.
3. You cant use multiple save profiles, so my kids keep screwing up my games.(ok this one has nothing to do with the question. I am just venting.)
As for why purchase a game if you keep your Stadia Pro membership running, mainly I've done it because the titles that I've wanted to purchase were not on Pro at the time, so far only 2 of my titles that I have purchased have made it to Pro, and they were all bought at a significant discount.
But each to their own, at the end of the day if you decide to cancel or suspend the subscription you will only be able to play purchased titles. If you keep the subscription running then you still have the choice to buy or not.
So you can choose what you want, no point living in fear that what you want will be released free because it may not be.
Well like I've been saying (cause there def is some truth to what the OP is saying) unless Google really gets its sh*t together and in gear ,aka adding MORE games. Honestly with them giving two (and now this month 3) games a month and a library of only 30ish games. U will eventually own (because it will be put on pro or "free") everything u see on Stadia (currently) and that's kinda the problem. It's just logic.
If they DON'T release more games or keep doing it at such this slow rate that they have been doing, they will eventually find themselves in that situation. Where they will be forced to give u their entire library pretty much for free because they "promised" at least "a" free game every month. (They have just been giving us two or like I said in this month three but the original promise never went beyond "a" free game) n like I'm saying with such a small library, u r giving two- games away every month for free. No one else See's where this will eventually lead to?
So in a WAY, yah it's kinda like why even buy anything else on Stadia at SOME point what u currently see, will have to be given to u for free for them to uphold their end of the bargain (at least a free game per month for pro subs) n it's mainly because stadia has such a small library and Google clearly doesn't give THAT much of a sh*y to change that.
Getting bashed left and right from reviews and review sites and honestly hurts me to say it but they are all right. Sure it's a test phase and I get it's not public yet so again this is like early access. Personally I've still seen plenty of games go further (in terms of progress) that were in EA and so that's still my comparison as well as my stance.
3 months, n u already got bashed on n again reviews wise pretty much no one praised u(stadia) pretty much everyone saw this as a fail. Horrible launch start etc. I can go find u article beyond article saying stuff like that yet can't find u many with "praise" or good things being said about Stadia (think truthfully is founders are the only ones really giving u praise and believing in you still) n I'm sorry but I agree.
Again F*CK ALLLLLLLL THE STUPID MISSING "FEATURE" bs because again truthfully doesn't do sh*t. Have whatever device u want to play it on. Have it in 4k hdr have there be NO ISSUES! and guess what? THE MAIN PROBLEM STILL EXISTS AND THATS LACK OF F*CKEN GAMES!!!!!!!!
I'm sorry this is a "video game" STREAMING service so compare it to other STREAMING services. Netflix etc. They literally would ALLLLLLLLLLLL f*cken fail if u saw only 30 films to pick from. That's f*cken fact. Why do they succeed? Because THOUSANDS of movies and TV shows to pick from.
I get we are no where near being in the THOUSANDS (At this rate, that again u push games, I'd be surprised if u actually make it to that 120, by the end of the year) but 3 months and only like 30 games n again pretty much same crap. With lack of other stuff. As I mentioned before u enjoy sports not much for u yet on Stadia. U want shooters well unless u are into looter shooters it's like again not much there for you.
Stadia itself is great, it is. Just like any service that's trying to provide u something. Well the lack of what they are trying to provide u will ALWAYS HURT IT. ALWAYS!
1. If a game you bought is offered for pro then you are just out of luck and don't get a free game that month if I am understanding correctly.
You buy a game 1) to own it... Google CLAIMED that even if the platform was to fail they would "make users whole". Whether that means refunds/digital codes or whatever it seems like a fair promise. 2) to play it... yeah, I could sit and wait hoping to play a game if it possibly becomes free in the next few months, or I could buy it and play it when I see a game I like. 3) Because if nobody is buying games, then Stadia won't be able to attract and keep developers, and then it definitely is going to fail. Which is also why you don't see sales all the time on here. The developers want to know that people believe in Stadia enough to pay full price for a game! If they think people are here just for free stuff, there's no benefit for developers to support Stadia when they can make tons of money on other platforms.
Personally, even if NEXT MONTH they release all 5 of the games I bought as pro games, it won't bug me. I've had the ability to enjoy them already, because I bought them. And I hope anybody who gets them for free enjoys them just as much.
2. The games are pretty much full price.
They've actually had some pretty good sales. Like I said above... I own (bought) 5 games and I did not pay anything close to full price for any of them. I would have bought at least 2 more when they were on sale recently (NBA2K Legend and RDR2 Ultimate) if I had the money, but I just didn't.
Also, keep in mind... HOPEFULLY we're going to start seeing some of the AAA titles that are being released... Some sooner, some later, like Doom Eternal, Cyberpunk 2077, and hopefully many others. Those games are probably not going to have lots of sales early on, if any. Even AC Odyssey on Stadia only had a sale at launch, and not since (another sale I wish I didn't miss). New, AAA titles are also not going to be offered as "Pro" subscriber games for a long, long time. Those are games we will want to play, and I'm probably going to pay full price for some of them gladly.
3. You cant use multiple save profiles, so my kids keep screwing up my games.(ok this one has nothing to do with the question. I am just venting.)
I think this depends on the game. Some games, allow you to have multiple saves, even if they're not under different profiles. I've only played one of the Steamworld games so far. But it allows you to create multiple game saves. So even if they're not under separate profiles, this would still allow you to save games for yourself and your kids separately. Hopefully profiles might become available later on.
It's still early for Stadia. If they COULD, I think they'd love to throw 1000 games on here tomorrow. That would definitely get them more subs, so of course they would do that if it was possible. I just think people joining Stadia have to have some patience, and 3 months for a new platform isn't patience. 6 months or even a year isn't really patience for a new platform, because it still could fail well after a year. If it becomes what they said it will be and what they want it to be, then it will be about the convenience, the technology, and also for the games... free games, discounted games, full price games, old titles, indie titles, and big name games.
I will buy Doom and Division at launch, I am not thinking about whether they enter PRO or not, I am not here for the free games ... I am here to get rid of the PC Master Race.
I hope that Google in the not too distant future will be the most powerful platform to play.
I work in the stock market, I can work with a potato. I'm tired of spending $ 6000 every two years to play games. I don't need to render and I don't do cryptocurrency mining either. I'm fed up, this is the Google deal you put the hardware and I buy you ALL your games.
Easy.
If you purchase a game then you get the luxury of playing it right away. You have the advantage over someone waiting for it to (maybe) become a free pro game one day.
That and the fact that you're physically supporting a company with a purchase is enough justification in my book to pull the trigger most times.
