I love Stadia and the technology behind it, but wow I had low expectations for Connect and still got disappointed. With all the hype from these gaming events this summer, you'd think that Stadia would only have an event if there were some large announcements to make. Everything featured today may as well have been a blog post.
What the community expected/speculated:
Instead we got click-to-play for only Pro members, and a few decent games padded by a lot of indie titles. Ubisoft Forward made me more excited about Stadia than Stadia Connect did because of Watch Dogs: Legions, Assassin's Creed: Valhalla, and Far Cry 6 all releasing day and date on Stadia. I mentioned I had low expectations, because at the very least I thought we would hear about new platform features. Even the "Summer of Gaming" sales aren't that great compared to previous sales on Stadia. What do you guys think?
I know what you're saying about new games, but honestly, I was more excited about finally getting some of the Youtube stream integrated like Click to Play and the Click to Join multiplayer games. Paired with the Crowd Play features for something like Dead by Daylight, and it could be a lot of fun. I've been wanting feature announcements more than just a handful of games. If we can have both, all the better!
Is Uplay+ coming to stadia I haven't heard anything ?
I watched and was very disappointed, as for that youtube thing are there even any Stadia streamers with more than a few viewers? its not like any of the big boys stream here so found it strange they would focus on something nobody will use.
Stadia is my preferred gaming method, and it boggles my mind that google isn't advertising the platform using streamers.
Stadia isnt a big Player at the Moment. So the stadia connect Event was okay. No hype but dbd and orcs must die is nice.
MH I think the Stadia connect was good, there were a lot of nice games shown and I got surprised as well with another free game for Stadia Pro, so that was cool. Also knowing that Cyberpunk 2077 and Assassin's Creed Valhalla is coming soon makes me very excited! Outcasters also sounded like a cute and fun game. So gamewise I am excited that the library is growing and growing.
Regarding quality of life improvements I agree, I miss Family Sharing and other features as well on Stadia, especially because it prevents of having to buy all the games again just because of a family <.<
But let's see what awaits us in the Future. As family sharing was announced to come 2020, we have some months left, so let's hope. ![]()
This was my first Stadia Connect and I thought it was pretty good. I'm glad there are more games coming in September. They didn't announce a release date for Cyberpunk on Stadia so that was a bummer (unless I missed it?). It's also nice to see some of the people that work behind the scenes.
Stadia is like an association of anonymous alcoholics or anonymous smokers, but for video game players, you will inadvertently stop playing video games.
It is also much cheaper than any platform, if you have nothing to buy you will not spend money.
In these 3 months I have saved what I have not spent in Stadia for a PS5.
Anyway I am buying a mountain house with a garden and a pool for future pandemics so my internet speed will drop considerably.
It was beautiful while the love story lasted.
