thank you for notifying me of why its shutting down, its a sad but i now fully understand why its shutting down. maybe sometime in the future google will one day create a console and re-advertise the stadia app.

I'd like to circle back on this long pending request and I am fully aware Stadia devs at this point may have other things to consider since the shocking news for them, partners, external devs, and of course us Stadians, however are their any plans to roll this out by the date Stadia shuts down?
At least to open source the controller hardware/firmware so the dedicated community can keep this alive? Would be really sad to be forced trashing a fully functional and great controller? While I like the design, it is also looking at this from an environmental perspective.

Yeah the controllers are amazing really. Would be nice to be able to use them wirelessly going forward.
I don't think they (or whomever the actual manufacturer is) would have any problems selling them as a generic bluetooth controller for other gaming systems.
@razfaz23 we don't know yet but surely it's one of, if not the most requested feature these past few days. We'll just have to wait and see, considering Google is most definitely already aware of the need.

I cancelled my stadia pro subscription September 24th, I have been a pro member for years, the reason I cancelled was to restart the subscription at the first of month to line up my own personal finances better. Obviously after the closing of stadia subscription service I can no longer access any of the pro games which accounted for most of my library. Is there any work around so I can re purchase the pro subscription. I have lots of games with partial progress that I would like to finish
@Crayzninja9019 Sorry to hear that. The news announcement was just so sudden, and everything was shut off right away. There's nothing that can be done right now unfortunately. It's really a shame that they didn't give some heads up before everything was turned off (although I do see why they had to do it that way)

Hoe het precies geregeld gaat worden is nog niet helemaal duidelijk.
Maar wat er wel bekend is dat iedereen een email binnen krijgt met details hoe je je geld terug krijgt.

I recently bought the stadia controller & chrome cast bundle along with a separate controller on eBay.
Now that they service is closing it says they will refund all that we’re only purchased on the google store so that means they guy who sold this to me on eBay with earn the money I paid plus the full refund from google this seams crazy to me as I have the hardware I should be able to get some sort of refund. Any advice?

Probably only the direct purchases are considered for refund and not third party selling between two private users. Check FAQ for new updates on this matter from Dan's post.
The guy who sold it to you is the winner... He sold the hardware and get refunded on top of that
You are killing a great project, at least can you let us use the Bluetooth functionality to use it with other devices?
Now that Stadia is going to be closed, we have the Controller Issue.
I've heard that maybe the bluetooth connection can't be enabled due to a hardware limitations.
BUT, the controller has a wireless capability to connect with Stadia's server, that means if the team create an application to run a local server where the controller would be conneced to it would be possible to use it wirelessly everywehere.
So my suggestion would be to have an app to desktop and android where we can pair the Stadia controller to redirect the connect to a localserver instead of stadia server, this solution would be interesting though.

I was billed for pro subscription. Why is that? Thought it was free until wind down.
@Timbo the announcement was so sudden, they probably didn't have time to turn off all the automatic subscription. Rest assured it will refunded if you're charged after the announcement .

A: We're starting the process to turn off automated billing for your monthly Pro subscription which will trigger cancellation emails to current subscribers and you may still see a bill if your regular billing cycle was in the next few days. Note that all Pro subscription charges anytime on or after September 29, 2022 (midnight PST) will be refunded as our refund process continues.
Google, please reach out to me for refund details. I closed my old cards but I want to get my money back as soon as possible before Stadia servers shutdown. Reach out to me on same mail. I want you to refund the money via new card(s) that I will provide in the future.

to be honest having your money refunded to your google play account is weird if you could choose your payment form that would be wise because what could you use to buy with a google play gift card any way? nothing since google stadia is being shutdown They could at least allow reimbursement through amazon gift cards or PayPal so you can actually re buy the games on a different platform?

So as i understand they planning to refund all purchases plus add ons that have been purchased however what if it is something such as fifa points as these arent exactly an add on and are an in game currency? If they would have announced the shutdown a week earlier i would have canceled my fifa pre order and gone about my life awful timing:(
