Stadia players, you may already have seen the message shared on Google’s main blog. This is a short recap of the most important information for players from the main post:
As we begin the work of processing refunds to customers, Stadia customer service agents will not be able to provide more information to you at this time. For information and updates, please review the information on our Help Center, which will include new information as it becomes available. We’ll also contact players directly via email shortly with more information.
We want to thank you for taking this journey with us: in particular, the Founders and fans who have been with us from the beginning. The Stadia team poured the same passion for games into our work building and supporting Stadia as you have shown us each day in your play.
@chaders Fifa points are considered as add-ons/DLC. Did you purchase the Fifa points through Stadia store? If yes then it would get refunded as well.
Does the same apply to RDR2 Gold Purchases?
@herfen Did you buy the gold through Stadia? If that's the case then yes.
Jup it says Gold Bar stadia on the Google Pay Receipt
Does anyone know if Google has plans to update the Stadia controller to convert it into a common Bluetooth controller? I want to know if I'm going to be able to use it vía Bluetooth in the future, or if it will end in the trash can.
Thanks in advance!
I have same question, it would be nice if they "unlock" it with some final firmware update or something. then it comes usable to all devices. otherwise it will be just some more ewaste. So far being CO2 neutral google.
The time to demand they fix this is now
@SamFdz A lot of people have been asking about it the past two days. No official confirmation whether they'll do it or not. If that doesn't happen, you can still use it with wired connection. If you really hate cables, then maybe bring it to a recycling center rather than putting it in trash can.
Or frame it and display it on the wall. Reminder for the future, or something.
Another thing we can do (since I have no idea if they read these forums) is to send feedback through the Stadia app. I did, you should, too!
I'm in the same bind, I got a free Premiere Edition a while back, so I didn't pay anything for it. I'm giving my 4k Chromecast to a friend after I upgraded to Google TV with Chromecast. I have no use for my laptop as I already have two Xbox One controllers.
I'd much rather they'd take it back, and recycle it themselves.
In regards to the Stadia Shutdown, I can get a refund for the Hardware - understood.
Can I get a refund for the games I purchased outright on Stadia too? I spent £60 on cyberpunk 2077 and it sucks that I would have spent money for DRM which I can no longer play.
Hey there, as per the FAQ, you'll get a refund for all games you've purchased. Any Stadia Pro payments (before the 29th of September) will not be refunded.
You should at least read this Thread before you comment in it!
Not sure if I misread the FAQs, but when they first announced the closing of Stadia, I am pretty sure I read that Pro would continue till January but no further payments would be taken?
Did anyone else read that? Or am I just making it up...?
@5ome5tadiaUser They FAQ has been added since then. The Pro sub billed after the shut down announcement will be refunded eventually
Q: I just got billed for my Pro subscription, when are you turning that off?
A: We're starting the process to turn off automated billing for your monthly Pro subscription which will trigger cancellation emails to current subscribers and you may still see a bill if your regular billing cycle was in the next few days. Note that all Pro subscription charges anytime on or after September 29, 2022 (midnight PST) will be refunded as our refund process continues.
So can anyone clear up how the refund will work. I did read all the information from google but its still not clear to me. Will the money just show up into my bank with out doing anything or will i need to do something to get this going.
@Viridian3965 No further info other than what's detailed on the FAQ. For now, we should watch out for the instruction email for further instructions.
I paid a lot on this platform, and i won't be able to play in january, so I was asking when and how we will be refund ?
Thanks for answer.
Hey @MattAz,
This article already answers your question: What today’s message about Stadia means for players
You'll get a refund for HW purchases from the Google Store + purchases of games. Refund may be processed a bit longer though, could be until Jan 2023.
Thank you for answer !
I bought mk 11 in twenty twenty the servers are shutting down I have almost no playtime can I get a refund if not good luck google getting me to ever give you any chances in the future.

Did anyone else here get charged for Stadia Pro this month? I literally just had a payment taken out of my account despite Google saying they wouldn't during the shut-down period.
I didn't bother to unsubscribe because of this, yet they still took my money and aren't giving me a way to get it back. How will Google refund me?
@Hyde99X this is explained in the FAQ

I definitely missed that part. Thank you for hilighting this for me.
Same here, got charged for stadia pro on 3rd October 2022 even if they wrote that they won't charge us. ![]()
Definitely keep an eye on that. It should be refunded (unlike all other prior Pro payments) but you'll have to wait until they ring the "all refunds are complete" bell in the future before calling foul.
