Stadia players, you may already have seen the message shared on Google’s main blog. This is a short recap of the most important information for players from the main post:
As we begin the work of processing refunds to customers, Stadia customer service agents will not be able to provide more information to you at this time. For information and updates, please review the information on our Help Center, which will include new information as it becomes available. We’ll also contact players directly via email shortly with more information.
We want to thank you for taking this journey with us: in particular, the Founders and fans who have been with us from the beginning. The Stadia team poured the same passion for games into our work building and supporting Stadia as you have shown us each day in your play.
What do we do with the hardware after the servers are shut down. Will they be collectors items or will it just be a nice paper weight.
Hello @worldsuntold
Chromecast Ultra and Chromecast with Google TV units will still function as streaming video devices. The Stadia controller will still work as a wired controller via USB. There is a grassroots campaign to convince Google to implement Bluetooth functionality in those devices, but it's far from clear yet whether that will happen. So, no, I don't think they'll be paper weights just yet. Whether they become collectors items or not is a question only time will answer. I have a Dreamcast in my basement somewhere. I don't know if it's considered a "collectors item" or not. This isn't all that different.
Best game controllers I've ever used. They nailed the feel better than Nintendo; I wish I could play those games with Stadia controllers now! Alas
Hi @Samurai2001
Please read this FAQ: https://support.google.com/stadia/answer/12790109
You will get all your bought games and DLC refunded automatically.
Hey, I have a question, will Google continue with the triple A gaming like Destiny 2, or will Google create a Gaming Console that can be used to play games that you downloaded or even stream on the cloud? In fact, will Google continue with cloud gaming?

No
I would never support google again on anything. Google could of just made this a pro only service but nope just like google its gone.
This is a bit harsh. They have their work cut out for them to keep trust on some aspects now for sure, but to be honest this kind of thing is par for the course with a lot of Google's products and services. You need a bit of a thick skin.
Hi
I asked others to help me to bought Stadia Premiere Edition in Google store around a year before. That person I did not have contact anymore. I just afraid that the refund will pay to he directly. Since the announcement said "We expect to be able to automatically issue refunds for a substantial portion of transactions as a credit to the form of payment used to make the purchase."
What can I do to prevent this? Is there any ways I can update google about the way to get the refund. Thanks!
Hi @RANDYCHAN
I am afraid there is nothing you can do. The purchaser of the Stadia hardware in the Google store will get the refund.
So I am afraid you are out of luck on the hardware refund part.
@RANDYCHAN from the FAQ we're told that the refund will go to the original payment method, so in this case it looks like it will go to the person that sold you the hardware. I'm not sure if there a way to prevent that from happening at this point.
Can you try get in touch with the person that sold you the hardware and explain the situation?
@Ivan Thanks for your reply. To be honest, it is purchased by purchasing agent. So i think it is not possible to ask them to pay me back.
There is a sentence in the announcementsaying "For purchases that we are not able to automatically refund, you will receive an email with details on how to obtain your refund." I hoep I can use this way...
@RANDYCHAN That only applies if you bought the hardware directly from Google store, and your method of payment is no longer valid.
hello to all guys and good afternoon. I tried to request a refund for my purchased games, but instead of having the "get refund" option, I have the "get help" option. Is this perhaps due to the fact that I made my purchases with a bank account that is closed today? how can i solve? Thanks for the replies
@Adriano_84 The process is just starting, so you will need to wait for a bit before being able to get refunds for your previously purchased games. Check out the FAQ below for more details

Q: How/When will I get my refund?
A: We are working through this process now and will keep this article updated as we define the process for each of the countries and different situations. Our intent is to have the majority of refunds processed back to the original payment by January 18, 2023.
ok thanks for the reply. So can I transfer my refunds to a Hype virtual card? because my old account is closed
@Adriano_84 No idea at the moment. Please wait for the email for further instructions.
Thanks for all
How will I get refunded? I can’t seem to find a way to update method of payment, or contact someone about updating the method through which I should be refunded?
@catchymango Please take a look at the faq below:

Pague todos mis juegos de la plataforma con códigos de Google Play, y ahora me he enterado que Stadia cierra y Devolverá el dinero, mi pregunta es, como me devolverá el dinero, o ingresará en mi cuenta?
@Yosuke You'll be given option for the refund to go through different payment method. Just pay attention to the email coming in the next few months

It’s such a shame Stadia is closing, I’ve loved every minute of it for 3 years….and I’m also sorry for all the great people at Google who have helped us all along the way to make sure Stadia has been a great experience. Thanks team Stadia and to the Stadia Guides who have committed their own time to help everyone here.
Now a quick question regarding Stadia Pro, the announcement said there would be no further charge until the platform closes. Should I be cancelling my Pro subscription or will this mean I lose access to my Pro games? Or can I just leave it active and I won’t be charged in that period? I assume the latter but thought someone might know.
Hey @Matt1 Just leave it open, you won't be changed anymore and you can continue to use it until the servers closes
You can find more on the official FAQs about the server closing:

Q: Will I get a refund? What is available for a refund?
A: We will be offering refunds for all Stadia hardware purchases (Stadia Controller, Founders Edition, Premiere Edition, and Play and Watch with Google TV packages) made through the Google Store and software transactions (games and add-on purchases) through the Stadia store. Stadia Pro subscriptions are not eligible for refund, however you will be able to continue playing your games in Pro without further charges until the final wind down date.
Perversely, I loaded up stadia.com this morning and found a Claim All for October's Pro games. I didn't expect it to work, but...now I can play those games too. Sigh
Hi I wanted to ask will give more free games on stadia pro . Is that it. Hoping you could make fifa 23 as pro game for now I wanted to pre order never got the chance ?
I do not think so, but never know will be only until 18th January.
