I've been playing the free Stadia pro games since Thursday and I got to say Stadia is really good. I've got a PS4/ Xbox one and I've been using GeForce Now for around a month. GeForce Now is not bad, but you can tell Nvidia are signing up more users than their servers can effectively handle. A good example of this is if I go onto it to play Assassins Creed Odyssey at 5am, I can put the graphical setting up to ultra (you are running an instance of steam/uplay through the app) and the game run's 60fps with no problems. Later in the day though, running the game at medium or even low settings can result in frame rate drops. Steam and Uplay both have FPS counters to let you know your games performance. With Stadia though I have no problems whatsoever. I've been playing Grid/ Gylt & Destiny 2 & they run at 60fps no mater the time of day. I have a full fibre 1g up and down and I can't even notice any mouse or controller lag. I am very happy with Stadia. I only wish I'd known Google would be letting people onto Stadia (without halving to buy the controller) a few weeks ago. I would have held off from buying Doom Eternal for my PS4 and would have got it for Stadia instead (you can't beat mouse and keyboard controls for an fps like Doom). I know what platform I'm going to be buying Cyberpunk 2077 for and it ain't the PS4. How has everyone else experience been?
I bought the founders edition and have had the pleasure of enjoying it since November. I’ve not had a proper console since the original Xbox, and this has been the perfect solution for me. Can’t see me ever going and getting a console now...!

Same! Never buying those expensive consoles again.
The last console I ever bought was the 360... I got gifted the Xbox one S.. I did not buy it because I did not want to buy any hardware... With stadia, you do not need, you just buy the game.
Those who Hates that are just fanboys who fear their beloved hardware will be discontinued...
I barely see the value of buying a console if I can get the same games without paying upfront a flat access fee... Because buying a console is simply buying an access to play games...
The world is shifting, either you embrace it or be left behind a world that do not longer exist... I see having console become more of a niche market.
And you also see Sony fanboys doing exactly what they were accusing Microsoft fanboys of doing... Damage control...
See the PS5 is already less powerful than the current version of stadia... A stadia which will improve over time.
I guess those who will buy the next gen console will mostly be in countries where stadia is not supported and hardcore fans... Streaming will become the mainstream and console become niche.
I'm a founder and got my stadia code around thanksgiving. I've been very impressed even though I was skeptical, but I like driving new tech forward so was willing to gamble. Stadia works well, it just needs a facelift and many features that are common nowadays, but you can tell their priority was making sure it worked as intended which it does. I will probably still get a playstation 5 depending on it's exclusives, but Stadia has been my primary way to play since I got it.
I like it so far but I feel like the system is perfect for a casual player (like me) but lacks those important casual performers like crash, spyro, ratchet and clank etc. Gylt was ok but the message was kinda lame. I can't really imagine paying for a AAA title here and not REALLY owning it. But I would definitely buy a good performer.
I have been using stadia since launch. I believed in the platform and even today I use the service and have fun. I'm not satisfied with how google is managing the platform, I'm not satisfied with some of the games offered and the prices in the store. I always hope that it is momentary and that the service takes flight, but I must admit that as soon as a better cloud gaming service comes out I will be the first to leave if things do not change. I will probably buy a ps5 only for exclusives and to try the vr playstation.
To me the biggest problem is the library, sure it will improve but they should put the turbo on adding game.
The pro deals are also lacking... I really want to buy Rage 2 and Red dead redemption 2 but the price are putting me off (I have Red dead 2 on Xbox one S and rage 2 is on gamepass but playing a FPS with a controller... And red dead 2 at 30 fps on Xbox...?)
If they want to keep all those who tried the 2 months pro, it would be way easier with more games...
Haters were bashing Stadia because they said it was not working... Well, now we all know it is working for the vast majority, haters now pivoted in bashing the library...
I hate loud noisy over sized consoles and stadia beats them in every way, I’m still on board.
I got Stadia back in January and in all honesty, I absolutely love it. It could be my circumstances too, as I am new to gaming and I don't get much time to put towards gaming as I have got a young family. So for me personally, it has been a case of minimum investment, playing the games that comes with Stadia Pro, and for a casual gamer like me, it has been great. Moreover, with the free version that released few days back, I got 2 of my friends to join (all they needed was a laptop and a mouse) started our own party, and we had a great mulitplayer session of over 2 hours on Serious Sam last night. Just brilliant! They were up and running in less than 10 minutes, at zero costs, and we started playing together. And during these Covid times, just catching up with mates (over game chat) and playing together is like god send. What more can I ask for!
I'm currently taking advantage of the 2 free months of Stadia Pro. I enjoy seeing and experiencing emergent technologies and was curious to try the service out. I've only played two games so far - Destiny 2 and Gylt via Google Chrome, so this will form the basis of my assessment.
So far I'm honestly impressed by how well the experience holds up in terms of performance and visual quality (although to a lesser extent). It takes very little time to launch into and start playing a game. It's very convenient, and aside from a few noticeable drops in visual quality while playing Destiny 2 it has been a pleasant experience thus far as well. Input lag is barely noticeable, performance is good, and the visual quality (mostly) holds up. The service as a whole is somewhat light on games and features, so I hope Google finds some success with this product to push it closer to its potential.
I love it. No console! It just makes perfect sense and it's easy. I'm honestly glad stadia came around
Hello @Doomster1971,
Happy you did like Stadia ! ![]()
I also want to share my experience. I wanted the Founder Edition but just missed it. Got Stadia a few after the Founder Edition wasn't available anymore. I had issues, it's true, but 100% of the time it came from third-party (Kaspersky, Google Chrome Addons, or stability over BPL, for e.g.).
I have a computer with an RTX 2070 Super. Yea. That's not the best, but not the least efficient too. Many friends told me "hey you're dumb you have a huge configuration but you play Stadia
". And you know what ? There is many reason to do so :
I didn't bought new-gen consoles since I joined Stadia. I'm not saying I'll never buy any console anymore : I did pre-order the Steam Deck.. to play Stadia on it. ![]()
Taking a step back I realised I played and finished many games on Stadia.
Way more than I was thinking. And it's always, even now, a pleasure to play on Stadia. ![]()
