What happens with purchased Pro Games that can be claimed later for free?

With the announcement of Farming Simulator 19 and Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, I was just thinking: What happens if I would have purchased one of these games and then it becomes free for all Stadia Pro users (most of us are Stadia Pro atm).

Would there be a refund then or is it just "your own fault", if you have purchased it and then later it becomes free to claim?

Btw: Is here anyone of you who would have this problem?

1. You got to play it the whole time before it was free. 2. You get to keep it if you decide to unsubscribe. 3. Lifes a ***** so suck it up. I get constantly burned on Xbox Games with Gold and PlayStation Plus freebies with games I had bought previously. The one upside is Google has one of the most lenient refund policies when compared to their competitors, most of them are within seven days and only an hour of play then you have to wait days to see if you even get the refund.

@Chufu @mcnichoj I am sure it would be a little annoying to purshased a game the week before it goes free however I agree with Mcnichoj people need to suck it up.

On this first time, they are refunding, but will not be the case in the future, it seems...

@Chufu

I cannot believe how people are replying basically making **bleep**ty excuses for Google when it is SO easy to solve.

Google KNOWS everyone playing right now is a Founder or Premiere. They CAN give out games that are not there already, just add a new game for the month making sure it is not one of the very few that is there, but they don't. They are counting on people buying games they will give for free. I think they also count on people replying to you to suck it up and to be grateful because you get to keep the game to play it again whenever you want, even if the sub expires, even when you won't ever play them again.

This is just another in a long line of poorly thought out plans for Stadia by Google. We paid for a beta, with very limited games that do not perform as promised but they get away with it because of a technicality.

  • 4k is not real
  • You can't properly play on all platforms they mentioned
  • Game sharing is not real
  • Destiny 2 runs at medium
  • Tomb Raider is a 2013 game that was on sale already

There is so much wrong with Stadia and so many in this community or in the subreddit just defending them wth "WE are lucky it is free" but we paid them for this. We paid them $130 for a beta that is free elsewhere.

We should expect and ask them to do better. This is a Google problem, just like the game performance, they've just washed their hands from and dropped it on our lap.

Cool, I just saw that Google announced:

"We know that some users have recently purchased these two games for their collection. Because of the proximity between the launch of the platform, and the announcement of these titles in Stadia Pro, we're happy to assist you if you'd like to request a refund if you have purchased either or both of these titles, even if it's outside of our normal policy." (Source: this article)

Therefore at least in this case (Farming Simulator 19 and Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition) you can request a refund through the support team. That's kind!
