One year ago it was full of promise, we expected top multiplayer games now it seems like something to play on the side for an hour a week since its online only where nobody plays online, is it just something to play a game yourself occasionally is that what this is?
Struggling to find any reason to bother with it, ok no downloads great but would rather spend a day downloading than a day waiting for players which is how long it would take to find someone on pretty much anything.
Sad state of affairs.
Hi @User5060 , It's disappointing you've had this experience.
Up until I used the Stadia I was mainly a console gamer (Playstation espcially) and I genuinely thought that Stadia seemed like such a silly idea. But see running Destiny 2 on Stadia it's an amazing experience, compared to that offered on the PS4.
Not only graphically is it superior but the frame rate being upped to 60fps I didn't even realise how much of a difference that made. The player base is not as dead as I was expecting to be either, don't get me wrong I've not tried to arrange a 6 player raid off my own back at the moment but I'm sure I could get one set up. Other multiplayer games like Bomber man R i've also had great experiences of with matchmaking.
What games is it that you've been struggling to get players on? I'd be curious to hear.
On top of all these benefits I get to play them on a low-grade laptop in bed with a controller that is extremely comfy and ergonomic and has had plenty of people singing it's praises online.
If it's not been that positive an experience for you I'm really sorry, but I can tell you the Stadia has been a great investment for me, maybe not the pro subscription but definitely the technology and the games I've spent time on.
Cheers,
I would be interested to know what games you find players on?
Without listing them all I have tried finding players on at least 20+ games and found nobody, doom games for example found 1 player one time but need 4 to start, series sam died in a day, outcasters bomberman etc are full of bots, destiny only control or gambit you will find a match, zombie army pretty much dead, ghost recons are dead, red dead is dead, like where is the players since you seem to wonder why nobody pkays anything?
@User5060 The appeal of Stadia definitely will be different between people. Personally I played games through Stadia a lot back when we still go to the office. It's easy to squeeze in some gaming time during lunch/break. Fast boot, quick in, quick out, no need to worry about installing / downloading games on my work laptop (which doesn't have the specs to play the game had it not through Stadia).
These days I use it when I'm already in bed, and can't be bothered to turn on my PC or PS5, I can play short sessions from my phone.
There are others that have been years removed from gaming world due to real world responsibilities, families, and kids, and now they have easy access to gaming without too much investment. I actually have a group of friends that don't usually play games, and these days we would gather up and play Bomberman or Monopoly through Stadia.
In the end, it's totally understandable if currently you have no reason to bother with Stadia, but maybe in the future?
What future, honestly what future what do you even see now, genuinly interested to know.
I mean, no one knows the definitive future, but Google have said they remain committed to Stadia and we've seen a lot of releases recently with Stadia having confirmed that at least 100 games are coming this year with 400 road mapped for the future.
I have even been trying to sell it for weeks, started at £50 thought it was a bargain got no bites at all down to £35 now and still nobody wants it, wont go lower might as well use the ccu and wire the controller to my pc.
If you're looking for people to bash the stadia, I think you've come to wrong place. Most people on here from what I can see are committed to making a welcoming and positive environment and enjoy using the Stadia.
I said in my initial post that I think the controller is a decent piece of kit and also said that other far more qualified people who disassemble technology as a living, agree that the Stadia controller is extremely well made and decent to use for gaming. So I wouldn't get rid of it.
Hey if in the future the Stadia experience looks better to you then you're always welcomed to return but from your post history I get the impression you and the Stadia have had an extremely rocky relationship.
"Hey if in the future the Stadia experience looks better to you then you're always welcomed to return"
Exactly this... The great thing about Stadia, is there's no real cost to maintain, so if it's not right for you right now, you can always stop using it and come back to it when it has a game that interests you ![]()
I'm not bashing stadia, I just want to know what it is, when buying a nintendo ds or a psp knew it was a companion type thing to play occasionly.
With stadia I bought in after being sold the console experience in the cloud where you can play the latest games with 10+ terraflops of power matching mid to high pc quality graphics.
Now I feel like its just something to play on mobile once or twice a week, makes it very difficult to invest in when you have no clue of the direction they are taking and get no info from google, also most new games are broke one way or another too.
