Nearly every second time I play stadia on Chromecast with Google TV, voice chat does not work. I can hear others but they can't hear me. It seems like it has something to do with signing in. Sometimes I get promoted to choose an account and if that happens, everything works but sometimes the stadia app just opens without choosing my account and the voice chat doesn't work. Is there a fix other than unplugging the Chromecast? This is very frustrating
Hi @OleGunner and @Cptkäptn,
Thank you for posting here on our community. I just wanted to hop in here to see if I could shed some light on the question. The feature you have requested is not actually available on Chromecast with Google TV. Please see the bottom paragraph of this article, Play Stadia with Bluetooth devices on Chromecast with Google TV. As of right now, the Stadia controller is the only gamepad that supports receiving game audio, chat audio, and microphone input through a connected headset. Please see the bottom of this article for more details, Stadia-compatible gamepads and screens. Reach back out if you have any other questions. We are here to help if so.
Thank you,
James

Hello @OleGunner,
I'm so sorry that you are having this issue. It sounds like this would be a very frustrating situation. I just wanted to follow up with you to see if you are still having this issue. Look forward to hearing back from you.
Best,
James

Hi James of course i use my loved stadia wasabi controller. So it should work right?
Hi @Cptkäptn,
Thank you for the response. Let me please clarify, how are your headphones connected? Your headphones must be connected physically to you be able to have voice chat work.
Thank you.
James

Same problem here on Chromecast google tv. I have the original stadia controller with earplugs/mic plugged into mini-jack in controller. Game sound and voice output is fine but mic not working in voicechat (e.g. i can hear others but they cannot hear me) . On the "old" CC Ultra it works perfect.
I am also experiencing this issue. I can not change my Voice Chat on in the "Who You're Speaking to" menu to anything, except None right now. It is super frustrating. I was just using it earlier this evening with no issue. Left - and came back - and the chat isn't working. I can hear others, but can not speak. I can play on a wireless laptop with the same controller and headset. Mic works. This is on GoogleTV Chromecast, wired connection. What gives? It's ruining my experience.
I am having the same problem. When using CCGTV + Stadia controller + headphones/mic plugged into controller, I am unable to chat in-game with my friends on Division 2. No problem when I switch back to Chromecast Ultra.
I did the exact same test yesterday. There must be an issue with the app. I will check again later today, but it is pretty frustrating - as even when I check in-game settings on PUBG - it looked like my mic was on, but it just didn't work. Lots of wasted time trying to fix an issue. It would be nice if there was a way to get prompt details about when there are issues happening. Doing the Stadia game report surveys don't seem to do anything.
I also find - even though I bought the hard-wire plug base for the Google TV, and I have top notch internet, that playing through Google TV has random spikes and lags that are pretty annoying. I wish this system was more stable. I think I will be moving back to a console soon, given this, the lack of certain game availability, poor community for games that do not allow for cross platform play etc. It's too bad, because I can't even recommend it to friends for these reasons.
Hello!
