I have a group of friends that I play The Division 2 with. We've had intermittent issues with voice chat over the last few weeks. Two of us are on Stadia PC on Chrome and 1 is X-Box.
We'll play one time and everything works fine. Then, we start another session a few hours later and none of us can hear the other. The issue impacts both Game Chat and Party Chat. No settings have been changed since our previous session. We all check and change our settings and we've verified mics and speakers are working in other apps.
On all of our devices the OFF icon shows next to the other players' names, but on our own devices everything looks fine.
Sometimes restarting Stadia clears the issue, other times it does not. We can't figure out what is causing this.
Hello @TikiDrinks
Sounds pretty annoying. Did you already contacted Ubisoft about your issue? Ubisoft Division 2 Support
I am not aware of a way to get it working either. Maybe some other users know how to fix this but I think your best option is reaching out to Ubisoft. ![]()
I haven't contact Ubisoft yet. Since it impacted game chat and party chat it seemed like it was a Stadia issue.
Just setup a discord and use that for the chat?
Hi @TikiDrinks,
We're sorry you are having this issue. Just wanted to follow up here and wanted to see if we could get some more clarity. Does this issue happen in any other game, or is it just in Division 2? If the issue is only happening in Division 2, then I think @RXShorty may be right and that Ubisoft support may be the best bet here.
Thank you,
James
I don't have any other games where I play with others. But, it happens in the party chat as well as in-game chat so it seems like the issue would be Stadia rather than Ubisoft.
Hi @TikiDrinks,
You mentioned that you play with a friend on Xbox is that right? I would assume you use in game chat when playing with them, correct? If they are also experiencing the issue, this is another reason it leads me to believe this would be something that Ubisoft would need to help us out with. Have you attempted contacting Ubisoft support yet?
Best,
James
My mistake. He's not on Xbox, he plays on Stada on his TV via Chromecast, as opposed to the other two of us on Stadia PC.
Hi @TikiDrinks
So the Chromecast user is using the Stadia controller input for a headset? And you are playing on your normal computer setup with headset plugged in the PC. So even with all native Stadia chat it sometimes does not work?
You create a Stadia group and invite your friends. If you close the session and the continue gaming later on are you still in the same Stadia group?
Sorry loads of questions but trying to understand the situation. I know when I close my Chrome browser and open Stadia again I am still in the group but I have to enable my mic again within the group.
The Chromecast player does use the controller input for headset. For me and the other friend on my PC, we don't use headsets, just the built-in mic/speakers on the computers.
If we leave a session we also leave the party chat, so a new session would be a new Stadia Party. We've tried both the game chat and party chat, and do change our mic input for whichever one we are using.
FWIW, we haven't had this issue over the last week or so.
Thanks for the answers.
Not sure if this was a temporary issue or not. Please let us know if happens again. ![]()
i thinks its on all the games. had the same issue playing destiny 2
