Unable to access shared Borderlands 3 add-ons.

I purchased two copies of Borderlands for myself and son. He is unable to access any of the DLC I have purchased on my account since then by using Family Sharing. We have tried launching the games directly from the add-on store page and while the add-ons show up as "Shared by Family" and the game loads none of the DLC playable in-game. Any advice? I feel like I'm SOL for purchasing two copies instead of waiting for family sharing to be a thing. Thanks.

You can't play the DLC together at the same time. It is limited by how many copies are owned in the family. So if you have 3 people in the family, and have 2 copies of borderlands, only 2 out of the 3 are able to play at the same time.
