Yes, I'm a beggar and I want to be a chooser too! Seriously... Was even more Tomb Raider the best they could do to kick off 2020?
Has anyone played the 20th Anniversary one? Is it good at least? And what about Thumper? I guess I better check out some game play video...
I've never played either so it'll get added to my to do list for sure.
Free is free. Hopefully you'll get a game you like better In February.
@Deleted User I'm GREEDY MAN!!! Lol. I know I am, and I actually do appreciate the "free" games. But... I'm just plain greedy. I actually did play the demo version of Thumper once on PS4. It's not a bad game.
@Xevioso From what I have read peoples seems to really like Thumper. I would not have buy it so I am glad it's gonna be free.
I've played the two first games on PC. Bought the third game when it was on sale and I'll appreciate having all three. Maybe I'll replay them both when I have the time. I'd love to see something else next month though ![]()
This is the biggest "issue" with these kinds of deals, there will always be some months were you already own the game/s on offer. Or maybe you're not interested in the game of the month. This will always be a posibility.
Out of curiousity, what game did you want to see?
Edit: I do not love how the community forum kills any kind of formating for me after the fact... I reset it.
@Bakken Don't laugh... I want AC Odyssey!!! (I told you I'm greedy!) It's a year old and the next AC will be out in 2020. I already have it on PC, so I don't want to re-buy it.
But @Livewireuk don't get me wrong... I'M JUST GREEDY! I don't think it's disappointing. None of us have paid anything yet for the subscription, and we've gotten some decent games so far to claim. I also bought Rage 2 Deluxe, and Grid Ultimate while they were on pretty good Pro deals.
But for $9.99 a month, even when we do start paying, the games they are giving us easily make up the subscription price. So I can't say in my opinion that it's disappointing. I still can't believe they are continuing to give us 2 games a month. They'll have to hurry up and expand the library soon, or they'll run out of games at that rate.
But I think what we will see are more "free" Indie games like Thumper once the library starts to grow. And then HOPEFULLY competitive Pro deals on major titles and exclusives. That seems like the only way this platform can succeed.
@XeviosoI get it. I haden't played it so I bought it myself. Good game!
I wouldn't expect two games in the future though, maybe in february but probably not after that.
PS. I prefer the term "included" games. Not really a big deal, but it lowers expectations ![]()
@Xevioso I have just started Thumper and Tomb Raider (20 year edition) yesterday and I must admit that both games have their own unique playstyle and they are fun too.
Thumper is a beetle-racing game, where you stay on one little road with your metal beetle for the whole time and it's also a musical/beat game. Which means that specific "events" happening when the beat is changing. E.g. you have to break special things or do the correct command otherwise your little beetle is crushed. So far I got to Level 1-14, but I guess it's getting harder and harder. Nice game though if you like fast games where you need good reaction.
Tomb Raider (20 year edition) was nice to play as well. Last Tomb Raider I played was "2" I believe, where Tomb Raider was a pixely person. In that game on Stadia though I was stunned by the graphics and the video scenes in between. It's basically a platform-game, so you need to press the right buttons in the right moments and you have to go in specific directions (e.g. walking off a cliff in the beginning is not very healthy). I still got hooked from the first story bit (just played 1 hour yesterday), so I want to see more of it and play a bit more.
So far I would recommend both games as they are really nice to play and different from the other ones available (haven't tried TR Definitive edition yet).
