Surprisingly awesome, but...

So here is the thing!

I was very curious about Stadia one I first heard about it. Was waiting to the release and wanted to try it out.I was very sceptical about its performance and functionality, but still I was willing to try it out to  judge for myself.

Now that I tried it out I must say it is pretty impressive. Once you set it up correctly it works like a charm.

I tried stadia on different Mac's via Chrome but it never really was good. Even on a network that offers over 900 Mbit down- and up stream (but limited to 100 for WiFi) the connection never really is this enough. It is possible to see video compression, lags or other issues.

Ergo: WiFi is just not good enough or has too many distributions. But apart from that, once you play via  connected to Ethernet i(Chromecast or Chrome) it works as expected. The only device that worked well over WiFi is my Pixel 3.

Now here the but:

As stated above, I am impressed with how well stadia works under optimal conditions and I am hoping it gets even better and that the community grows.

Good job guys

But there are few things that are important for stadia to survive out there in between the giants of gaming consoles)

- Games: for a gaming console to be successful it needs good games. Right now at launch it seems there are not enough. But I'm sure everyone is working hard to release more and more good titles.

- price strategy: to win over ps or Xbox gamers a good price strategy is needed. Everybody thinks they have to pay the monthly abo + the games they already have in their console. Which is true right now, but might change next year with the free account. Still this is not very attractive yet. Maybe a different abo would be good for let's say 20 per month to be able to play all games for free. Something like that. You figure or out

Yes that's basically it. Yes there are some bugs that don't throw a good light but that's solvable.

Overall a nice experience so far and let's see how long it will survive ....

Kind of a long post just to be the 100,000th person to suggest they do a Game Pass model. They don't have enough games on the service yet. Microsoft themselves who popularized the model dont even allow you to play EVERY single game on their platform.

@Sunsurfer spot on.

It would be awesome to see older games come to Stadia as well. It doesn’t have to be triple A titles imo.

Cheap games like for example would be a welcome addition.

Grim Fandango

Full Throttle

Payday 2 (4 player co-op fun)

monkey Island

kart games (for group fun)

oldskool games (which are already bargains)

Just for the fun of it, this will allow stadia to get loads of games for soft prices. There are lot of games out there that run in Linux, if I am looking at m my Steam Library.
