This might not be the best place to do this, but with the recent events involving the acquisition of multiple major studios in gaming there's got to be some concern on the Stadia side.
So, here me out, I know the possibility is absolutely small, but Stadia should partner with Steam.
Steam/Valve has been wanting to separate themselves from Windows since Microsoft created a comeptitor to the Steam store. I know Stadia is currently a competitor but I believe it would be benficial for Stadia to do what they could to bring Steam's library of Linux Native games to the Stadia store.
Since Valve has been working hard on getting Steam games to run on Linux, and Stadia is also based on Linux, I think it makes sense. I'm not software engineer though, just a player looking from the outside in with what little knowledge I have.
A Stadia/Steam parternship could really make waves in the gaming industry.
Curious to hear your thoughts!
It has literally just been revealed that Stadia isn’t focusing on it’s customers anymore and is only interesting in its white label service. Even Phil Harrison has fled back to London. Stadia is now officially a zombie platform.
About 10 minutes after posting this I saw the article on reddit. That blows hardcore. Been a founder since day one and was hoping to see a bit more. Been super supportive of the platform and even started streaming from it.
Thinking on that though, that means Steam could use Stadia's tech to power their own Cloud Gaming platform. That would be awesome. Just port the games that people own on Stadia to Steam.
